I had a limited, signed edition of Cyteen, but sold it for a lot of money a couple of years ago, since I couldn't see myself reading it anytime soon.

Should I acquire a cheap paperback and read this?

Cyteen was the first Cherryh I read, and it made me a big fan, so I'd say yes.

"Cyteen" is an excellent book, I agree, although its ending is a little abrupt.

The story is continued in Regenesis, but that's not as good a book.

Cyteen's excellent, but could be hard going for some readers new to Cherryh. I began with Downbelow Station.

If you like space opera, begin with the Chanur novels. If you like fantasy, then pick up the Morgaine saga. If you like complex world-building, read the Foreigner series.

Oh, she's such a good writer... just pick up any of them and get started!

Thanks, everyone.

I'll be in the US for Christmas, so I may pick up 'Cyteen'. (OT: possibly along with a Kindle Paperwhite2.)
