Harry, I'm in Canada and that is how we we write it: $.99 or just .99c. or 99 cents. All are acceptable formats in Canada. By hey, thanks for your feeble attempt at correcting me LOL! You have a great day now.

One fires firearms. A bow is not a firearm. An arrow is loosed from a bow.

I'm not disputing the fact that you write it - the fact that you did indeed write it is self-evident; I'm asking you the reason why you wrote it. "$.99" and "99c" are both logical, but ".99c" means "zero point nine nine cents"; it does not mean "ninety nine cents". If you mean "ninety nine cents", why is there a decimal point?

I'm learning so much about archery in this thread. I had no idea before this the correct way to refer to putting the area on the string of the bow.

I learn something everyday on this forum.

When I was in archery, if I "loosed" the arrow, it was when I accidentally dropped it and it fell loosely to the ground. The other times I tried to actually shoot it.

Though I think "serviced" has a connotation for some people that is best avoided for the clearer "served," it actually is within the scope of the definition of service:

"to provide (someone) with something that is needed or wanted"

And it's not a recent usage either, like such abominations as "irregardless".

More on topic: I would say either here or manybooks.net for free books in addition to whatever is at your retailer of preference (B&N, Amazon, Kobo, etc.)

Weeell, I have lost one. After I shot it. Or loosed it from its moorings on the notch/nock depending on the vocabulary you like best. You'd think that if you can't shoot them very far you couldn't lose them. But if you consider that sometimes there are bodies of water in the vicinity, you'd find it is, indeed, possible to lose them.

Fair enough.

Arrows are shot, and then afterward they are occasionally lost.
