Nothing special about the yard - just LOTS of leafs this year - that didn't blow away. I'll take some 'action' photos tomorrow with my Nexus tablet - I'm having a ball with its camera.

I'm so glad my son was born when he was. Stepping on a Tinkertoy connector hurts much less than stepping on a Leggo. And as a parent, we WILL step on them fairly often...

I'm drinking an after-dinner mug of the new English Breakfast tea that I buy here. In fact, we went to explore a new shopping mall that just opened here last week (it's the largest shopping mall in all of Thailand, complete with an ice skating rink tucked into one corner so diners in one of the Food Courts can look down on the rink while they eat. It was fun to watch; based on what we saw today, Thais will probably not compete in winter Olympic skating events... But I digress... The tea shop where I bought the new English Breakfast tea has opened a shop/tea room in this new mall, and I picked up another 200gm of it to take home.

Some things just never stop...

Good morning, everyone. Sun's up (I shot a 8 different images of it rising. Well, 72 images actually, including all the bracketing.) Looks as if it will be a pleasant introduction to a December work week. I'm drinking my new English Breakfast tea from the local tea shop. They blend Assam and Ceylon for this one. I like it! But no time to waste this morning. I've a doctor's appointment (getting my toenails fixed finally after too many years of kicking stuff,) then off to my guitar lesson. Then it will be a run to the electronics plaza to try to locate a new transformer for my wife's keyboard. I bought her a stand for it yesterday so she could finally set it up. She plugged it in, turned it on, and watched the transformer send up a puff of smoke and die... She was surprised to discover that her 100V Japanese transformer couldn't handle Thailand's 240V...

Thanks, everyone. Yes, so far no out-of-control demonstrations up here. I've heard there was some shooting in Bangkok, with several dead, but the demonstrations here have been outside of town and making no impact on our daily lives. It's the norm for political parties to hire a few dozen buses, and offer free lunches and free T-shirts to farmers in rural communities if they will come to the demonstrations and shout slogans. When I was working here, I often photographed the demonstrations and the last Coup. I frequently talked with the demonstrators and was surprised to discover that most had no idea of the issues being addressed, but were only there for the free food and clothing. Everything was pretty peaceful, but the government always keeps the checkpoints fully manned and ready... This is a fairly common sight all over the north.
