best output epub to pdf large monitor
When converting epub to pdf for a 22 inch monitor what would be best output? I used the letter which is default and it is very small. i have to make it 400% on the pdf to fill the screen.
Also, in the two up or two up continious view in adode reader the pages do not line up. An illustration is split it two with one part out of place. Finally, I have calibre on my vista and want to install it on my new window 7. I want to be certain there is not adware/spyware/toolbars etc ![]() Last edited by CineMan; 11-24-2013 at 06:08 PM. |

Sorry I can't answer your PDF query
If you download calibre from the calibre site ===>> http://calibre-ebook.com/ then you'll get an unpolluted version - anywhere else and you'll probably get steak knives, free food stamps and investment opportunities. br |

You don't need PDF for a 22 (or 32" monitor) to fill a screen
The Calibre-viewer will fill the screen, has a 2 (or more column display when in PAGED mode) |

The conversion lets you specify any page size you like under PDF OUtput in the conversion dialog. Keep increasing it, until you find a size that works for you.

I guess my imagination is limited because for the life of me I can't see where converting an epub to PDF could give you any benefit over the Epub when viewing either on a monitor. Since you prefer PDF for this please enlighten me. If you have a readable epub what advantage do you perceive the PDF providing when viewing it on a monitor?

not sure what you mean. I prefer to read from a pdf file than from an epub on the screen. what part of that do you not understand. It is my preference. if your preference is different how could i give you a helpful answer? I have always read pdf and prefer it just like i prefer firefox to ie

If you are unable to articulate the benefits you perceive that is fine. BetterRed already gave me an idea of why one might find it preferable. Until BRs answer I thought text across the screen is text across the screen. Epub, PDF, Mobi it is all the same as far as books that originated as an ePub is concerned. At that point it is really up to the reading software you choose to use on your PC and not the format. Last edited by DoctorOhh; 11-25-2013 at 08:14 AM. |

Because we don't currently do something does not mean there are not reasons to change our ways.
A font is a font, be it used in EPUB or PDF Annotate is the only general use advantage I see. Preventing reflow by using Acroread has applications for specific kinds of documents where flow makes a hash ![]() |
