epub to mobi problem

95+% of my conversion is mobi to epub because I get the book and share it with my wife's Nook, but she got an epub recently from an author and I tried converting it to mobi with Calibre 1.11.0 The details I got were:

Long shot - this has worked for me on occasions

Rename a copy of the .epub to .zip and try to repair it - there are several free repair kits - Google 'repair zip file', they are not all the same, so its worth trying a couple.

You'll need to rename the repaired .zip back to epub and try it

We have received a new copy of the book from the author, remade in some way, and the new one reads fine, so there must have just been a problem with the first one. Thanks all.
