I would love for them to give it a shot though! No one knows what happened to them. I hate when romance authors just vanish! When they asked them about Cat they didn't act like there would ever be a book about them like they were surprised people were crazy about Cat instead of the h/h of the book.


I'm currently coveting my Christmas reads to KF8 format. Looks like 40 of them made the TBR list this year. Not going to read even half but it's good to have options! I've got 20 of them done so far! Only 20 more to go! The task of converting to KF8 is more work than I would like. I like the one click conversions instead of manually tweaking each style sheet to work right.

I read one Tamara Morgan book and, of course, I had to get just about everything else of hers (). I've had the Overnight Socialite on my wishlist for over two years and it was great to pick it up for only $0.50 with the 95% code

In the past week I read:

1. Wife by Wednesday by Catherine Bybee (3.5 stars) - decent read; like a Harlequin Presents but without all the angst

2. Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny Reid (4 stars) - cute and funny (but too long!)

3. Dragos Takes a Holiday by Thea Harrison (5 stars) - decent novella but I especially loved Baby Liam's (aka the Peanut) POV. I don't think it deserves 5 stars but I love every book or scene with Pia and Dragos, and Liam just stole my heart - he is sooo cute and sweet

4. Truly by Ruthie Knox (4 stars) - not sunshine and light but a good story. It's supposed to be published next year (fall, I think) but it's available for free reading on Wattpad. Not sure how long that'll last, though.

I put together a list of Christmas novellas (16 in all) for next month. It was hard getting this many, as most of what I have are part of series I haven't even started yet. I'll be happy if I can read at least 5 of them. I always have good intentions for Christmas reading but ...

I started to read this online and then remembered why I don't like reading books online, so I figure I'm ahead of the game by two chapters when it gets published.

Yep ... lol! I also don't like online reading; I read it via the iOs and Android apps, which weren't bad but you can't highlight (I like to highlight ).

I know I said I won't be buying anything more today but I just got an email from eReaderIQ that Meant to Be, the first book in Terri Osburn's Anchor Island series, is now $0.99. I've been hearing great things about her books and have them all on my wishlist. Of course, I had to get this one

I feel the same way about Tamara Morgan. I'm eyeing all of her other books after reading The Derby Girl and In The Clear.

I think Truly will be on Wattpad through the end of November, then it will be released as a normal ebook in the fall of 2014 (this was all the publisher's decision, not Ruthie's). I started reading it as a serial, but got frustrated so I stopped halfway through and waited to finish it until all the parts were posted. I felt like reading it as a serial blunted the impact of the story. After it was done, I reread it and thought it was much better be able to read it all at once. It's a pretty powerful story about living the life you want instead of settling for less.

I really don't get this trend toward serials and cliffhangers. IMHO, I don't think it works all that well for the romance genre. We read for the HEA right? So it's particularly unsatisfying to get no payoff when the words stop.

I liked Meant To Be. I picked up it up on a previous discount round. I'd rate it a B - not earth-shattering, but a solid, enjoyable romance and gripping enough that I didn't want to put it down. Definitely worth $0.99. The second one is on my watch list at eReaderIQ, although it hasn't been discounted yet.

I only found out about Truly in the past few days so it was already complete when I read it. I'm not a fan of serials myself - too much of an instant-gratification person - so I don't think I would be able to read it in pieces; I have little patience and waiting would drive me nuts
