Android KitKat released

My nexus 7 also updated. I really like the immersive mode, but I'm a little disappointed with the update overall. It seems like a lot of the visual tweaks (transparent notification bar, wallpaper in the app drawer, etc.) didn't make it to the nexus 7 for whatever reason.

Nah I prefer Facebook. It's get more exposure. Had lots of good luck with using Facebook for support from many companies. Email is so obsolete.

You may prefer Facebook, but he advertises email customer support as a benefit of buying Moon+ Pro.

Yeah he also does support on his Facebook page. That's how I came to know about the app. I don't understand why you have a problem with this. Facebook is the new way to get support quick as long as it doesn't require like logs or is a personal issue. It also helps other users know that they too are experiencing the same bug and it's just not them. I do this all the time and have had great results.

I don't need a response just for him to see it whenever he checks his page.

I'll have to put that on here as I only got stock widgets right now. Thanks for letting me know.

I can say the upgrade has significant improve the touch sensitivity before it took several tries to check a box or move a icon or click on certain menus. Now it seems to work like any other tablet I own.

It's not I just though you had a problem with me using Facebook. I knew about the email support I just prefer another method.

Really? I very much like that the status bar icons are all white now. Someone said the blue color looked very sci-fi, which I agree

According to Android engineer Dan Sandler, the white icons were originally chosen to present a more neutral palette that works better with apps. It also turns out that #33b5e5 blue doesn't show up very well with the transparent status bar.

If you want all that, you're going to need to install the Google Experience Launcher (GEL).

EDIT: I have the new 2013 Nexus 7, so I don't know if this works on the 2012.

Just found a horrible bug on the Kindle app after the upgrade. I went to read my book and when it open the brightness suddenly went to 50%! The System brightness slider was still all the way down. I was blinded as I'm in a dark room.

Luckily Screen Dim does work so I turned it on and it override the bug. I was able to read. Just remember to close the book before turning it off unless you want to see spots.

I reported it to Kindle Support.

I noticed that too. Fortunately I was in a well lit room so it wasn't as bad as a dark room would have been. The 4.4 update reset my Kindle app library settings. Prior to 4.4 I was using list view but after 4.4 update it reverted back to the carousel view. Not sure why, but it was an easy fix to get back to list view.

And as noted in another thread, 4.4 caused ScreenDim to stop working until I stopped and restarted it. It works fine now.

I'm not looking forward to it. People report that USB audio is even more problematic on KitKat than it was on Jellybean. I rely on external DACs to improve the SQ on my N7.2; so far, they seem only to work with USB Audio Recorder Pro. If KitKat breaks even that option, then my tablet's going to be a lot less enjoyable.
