I got this code in an email from Kobo: UNLIMITED50 (50%, ends Nov 25)

It says it is for books on this list: http://store.kobobooks.com/en-nz/Lis...pE2slk_ChJGWRQ but it works on books that are not on the list too.

The other day I purchased a book which had no download link. After robot-like responses from their help ticket system I finally stayed up late (time differences) to do online chat. Turns out the book I wanted was not only a KEPUB, but one that won't even work on older Kobo devices. The agent suggested I read the book on my Android phone. Ridiculous!

What the world does NOT need is yet another proprietary e-book format. It seems the only "advantage" of KEPUB is for keeping track of remaining page turns in a book, not a good reason for a new format. If Kobo thinks that selling this format is going to inspire customers like me (I read on a Sony Reader) to buy Kobo devices, I think this will backfire badly. Since there is no labeling as to whether a book is KEPUB, I hesitate to buy anything more from Kobo. Not only won't I buy one of their devices as a result, they stand to lose me as a customer entirely.

What's more, at least EPUB format enables me to back up my book collection, whereas KEPUB does not. It puts Kobo in the same control that Amazon has: to arbitrarily remove items from your Library, with no recourse.

I'm absolutely pissed off. They did give me store credit, but I lost use of the coupon I'd used to purchase it.

Does anyone know how to extract a KEPUB from an Android phone, remove DRM, and convert to EPUB? Everything I've seen online is about converting EPUB to KEPUB, though for the life of me I can't understand why anyone would want to.

Hi

I dont use IE so I'm not sure what's the process. Have you try Chrome instead of IE? I have successfully use 80nvbr on both combination of Chrome/Firefox (old on one and new on other). Also, I normally use UK or India for new Checkout & Vietnam or some other obscure country for old checkout (most books on those are couponable).

Depending on the book he might have to get it from his phone/tablet. There are books which won't even work on the desktop.
