@JBaby - It depends on where you purchased the theme. If you purchased it on the "old" iPad, then it won't transfer to the Universal version.
If you purchased it on the iPhone version (that now became Universal) it will transfer. If this is the case, you can just tap on restore purchases and everything should be OK. |

In terms of losing the themes that I purchased, ok with that also. Listen, Marvin for iPad was free for so long - I am not that upset by having to re-purchase anything. It's the least I can do to show my support for such a wonderful app! I'll live. |

Looking at the iTunes Store at the Marvin for iPad only, there are three apps shown in the related section. Can someone tell me which is the universal app for Marvin of the three listed... Marvin for ipad only, Marvin e-book reader for EPUB and Marvin free addition.
Thanks |

![]() ![]() By the way, this again shows the value of taguntumi's Library proposition: if Marvin's Library were (also) cloud-based, then I would automatically get to see the same books in both Marvins (in both of their Libraries). As it is now, I need to load every book manually into each of the two Marvins on iPad, then again on iPhone, and finally on iPad 1. That is 4 repetitive, manual steps that a cloud-based Library could reduce to a single step. (I'm not counting the "push cloud button to download book" action as a manual step, because that's trivial and non-time-consuming.) |

Ok, so now I´m a bit confused. I received the 2.4 update for iPhone. That is the new universal version, right? At any rate, all the purchased themes are there.
With regard to the iPad and iPad mini version: When I go to the app store, the new "Marvin - eBook reader for epub" is showing in place of the paid former iPhone offering. However it says that is downloaded. I figure, no problem. I´ll go to purchases on the iPad and download the new iPhone version. It shows the previous iPhone version. If I download that, will it then offer the update? It seems that it has for other apps, but I really don´t want to mess up the Marvin I have until I´m certain. It´s the only app I use daily. I´m in the middle of a mystery and don´t want to lose my place :--) nor my library. Am I right in assuming that downloading the last iPhone version onto my iPads will then update and all will be well? Thanks in advance! Last edited by fireland; 11-21-2013 at 02:42 PM. |

I have no idea what version I have on either my iphone or the ipad now. The iphone version updated itself and appears to be the universal one. I manually updated the ipad version. I don't believe it is the right version. Hopefully not. Everything appears to be an expanded, bloated version of the iphone one. There is a black border all the way around the reading pane, making the reading space quite small and unattractive. I have paid for the themes on the ipad and purchased the iphone version. Did this a few weeks ago. I believe I just paid for the themes again. I love Marvin, but this is all very confusing.

@ldrover Go to the App Store and update again (the same thing happened to me). It seems that in some cases the App Store is sending the iPhone version to iPads
![]() The iPad only version says 'iPad only' in the name of the app. There's also a notice explaining what's going on in the app description. Unfortunately it seems that (yet again) the App Store is taking a long time to propagate the right version to all countries. |

@ldrover ...also, your iPhone version has definitely been updated to the correct version. The only possible confusion is on iPad because there are currently 2 versions for iPad - the 'new' universal version and the 'old', temporary iPad-only version. Eventually the iPad only version will be removed. I did this so iOS 5 users can get the latest updated version too.
I've done my best to explain what's going on in the App Store description and here: http://blog.marvinapp.com/post/67662088098 |

Thanks, again. Is there a way to remove the black border around the reading pane on the ipad?

Hi!
I loved the old Marvin, and have gotten the Universal Marvin and installed it. (At least, I think so. There's no way I find that I can tell for sure.) But I have an Ipad mini, 1st Gen, and find that the system fonts are -HUGE-. Inside a book I can adjust the fonts, but I can't find a way to adjust them to be a lot smaller on the Home screen. Is there a way to do this that I'm missing? |

Ok, so I´m still confused. Now, the new version for the iPad is showing up in the store. But it says "Downloaded."
In my last post, I asked: >>I figure, no problem. I´ll go to purchases on the iPad and download the new >>iPhone version. It shows the previous iPhone version. If I download that, will >>it then offer the update? >>It seems that it has for other apps, but I really don´t want to mess up the >>Marvin I have until I´m certain. It´s the only app I use daily. I´m in the >>middle of a mystery and don´t want to lose my place :--) nor my library. >>Am I right in assuming that downloading the last iPhone version onto my iPads will then update and all will be well? Thanks in advance! So, my closing question remains the same. Sorry to seem so dense. |

It seems that in some cases, the App Store is sending the iPhone version to iPads (black border around everything). To solve this go back in the app store and update Marvin again.
Unfortunately, the App Store can take a *really* long time until a new version is propagated to everyone properly. |
