Pay attention to the OP for the latest info on ad scans and store openings. Most of the ads are out, but there are still a few that haven't been released yet.

As to store openings, times are already posted for the physical stores. What isn't generally known are the online openings. I've already posted a few and hope the other stores release that info soon. I fully intend to do most of my BF shopping online and will be burning the midnight oil placing orders. The one store I plan to actually visit is Fred Meyer for their half-off stuff. |

Several stores have announced they will start Black Friday sales a week early. Walmart and Best Buy are two so far. More will be announced. Start checking online this weekend for the sale prices.

Saw that; and thanks. I'm currently in the process of setting up a pre-BF post.

Trying to cram so much info into one thread is challenging to say the least. A whole sub-forum would've been better.

Samsung has started their online BF deals now. Sign-up and fill out a wish list. Then, at some point, you'll be allowed to pre-order those items at BF pricing.

Those of you who just bought a Nexus 7.2 what case do you use?

I bought Poetic Slimeline case because the HDX version is really awesome and very lightweight, however the Nexus 7.2 case seems to have some issues. The auto on/off is sporadic and the left corner does not seem to snap in snugly. I also think the front cover isn't an even as it should when closed. I paid $13 for the case because I know the HDX version is top notch (I own two of them by the way one still new in it's package and the one I had on my HDX) so it didn't seem like risk to pay $13. |

I don't. It lives in a padded neoprene sleeve. Was hoping someone would make a heavy duty case (Griffin, OtterBox) by now; but unfortunately, no one did. May end up getting a case like yours; which I really don't want to do.

I have a Kindle one I bet it would fit too but I don't trust them for traveling but laying around the house is fine. Gorilla glass or not it needs protection when it leaves here. I've got to get my Squaretrade warranty but waiting to see if they have a huge coupon like last year before I buy.

I got the M-Edge Universal Stealth 360 because it was the only case I've seen (in stores or online) that did both landscape and portrait mode. Plus Staples had a $10 off coupon.

It was pricey ($35 after the coupon), but I wanted a case from the get go. Also it was only available in black or raspberry (pink) whereas I would have preferred purple or blue, but I digress. Since it is a universal case and not designed specifically for the Nexus, the upper right corner strap is exactly where the power button is. However this doesn't impede use of the button. It's just a semi-annoying quirk I've already become adjusted to. The griptrack works well for the most part though I did knock the device off kilter pressing the screen a few times on day one. It never actually fell over so that's a plus. But the area that will hold it securely is not the whole griptrack. This issue is with portrait mode only, landscape mode has a wider range of angles at which it is stable. Last edited by library addict; 11-21-2013 at 02:15 PM. Reason: right not left corner |

				Get a Karma no-contract 4G hot spot for $64.86

"The Cheapskate" over at CNET has a great deal today on a mobile wi-fi hot spot from Karma (through SocialStack). You get the hotspot device plus 1gb of starter data for $64.86. It's $69 at SocialStack but drops to $64.86 with the use of the coupon code: bf-sixer. Both Amazon and Karma are selling the same package right now for $99. You can buy additional data in 1gb increments for $14. Your unused data never expires, rolls over to the next month, and there are no contracts. It's pay as you go.

Two caveats: 1) Limited coverage. Be sure to check Karma's coverage on the map at Karma's site. The link is in the CNET article. 2) Karma will be going over to Sprint's LTE network in 2014. While coverage will improve, the devices they currently sell won't work at some point in the near future and you will need to buy another. However, they promise here to offer "steep discounts" on the new LTE device to those who are already customers. Because of that promise and good coverage where I live, I went ahead and ordered the device. --Pat |

I thought I'd get this in quickly because we're about to get flooded with the very deals that are the core purpose of this thread.

I gave Nexus cases a lot of thought over the weekend and chose two in particular: The Nillkin Ultra-Thin Case in black for incognito urban foraging and the MOFI Smart Cover Premium Case in orange or green for more flamboyant moments. People claim that the Nillkin has more attention to detail than the other two popular models (the Poetic and the Moko). I don't know whether that's true -- the ultra-thin models all look the same to me -- but I can tell you the Nillkin is better made than the official cover for the Kobo Aura HD and also that the precision of its details are pretty (I hear that word in the voice of a drunken young woman from Florida talking about a man in leather pants). What I wish is that someone made a case for the N7 that routed the back speakers' signal to the left and right front of the N7 in landscape mode. It could easily be done! Perhaps we should start a thread about this in the Android forum of MR. (And now back to our regular feature.) Last edited by Prestidigitweeze; 11-22-2013 at 06:20 PM. |
