I think so because the Fire HDX uses Cloud Collections and Cloud Collections have the ghosts. I too had dozens of collections going back to two K3s, a K4, a Touch, a couple of PW1s I didn't keep, and various apps. What a mess. It took a while to clean up, but geez. Also, like Josie found out you can forget about having unique collections on any of your devices/Kindle apps that sync with the Cloud Collections. You will have all of your Cloud Collections on all applicable devices/apps, like it or not.

I am so glad that I always keep the wifi off... I'll give that update a miss I think, looks like they've made a right mess of it.

My only gripe is that the changes only apply to the PW 2013 and HDX 2013. They should apply to all devices and apps. Once that happens there should also be a Collection page on the MYK pane in one's Amazon account where we could do all this on a PC rather than on the PW 2013 and / or HDX 2013.

I would not recommend deleting the collections until it is confirmed by Amazon that a deletion on the device does not permanently delete them from the Cloud.

One other thing I do not like about this Cloud Collections: It requires you to leave your wifi on, otherwise you will get the annoying ignore/connect message each time you make any changes to your collections. This is definitely going to require some changes from Amazon, one step forward....five steps back.

This just seems like one big mess to me. I updated earlier this morning and immediately had 63 books in my Currently Reading Collection. I just turned WiFi back on a little while ago and now I have 13 pages of Collections, some of them from way back on my K2 when we first got the feature.

And I feel stupid for asking, but where ARE my Cloud Collections? Not on MYK?

I wished I knew where they were and how we could access them via the Amazon website, but I don't. For now it looks like we have to edit this mess via a PW2 or a Fire HDX. Amazon really screwed this up IMO.

I agree, it's frustrating. I usually only keep books on my Kindle that are not yet read. I don't want my Cloud books showing up there, even if they aren't physically on there. I feel like I've lost control of what appears on my Kindle! Just had to delete 13 pages of old collections.

Thank you for answering my question about the Cloud Collections. All day I just keep seeing talk about Cloud Collections, and I'm thinking, where the h*ll are they???

I don't make a habit of emailing Amazon with feedback but I guess it can't hurt to do so now. We certainly don't want this update on our PW1s and it will certainly out me off buying a PW2.

And even then I get the "Content not synced" warning. Two messages. Every. Single. Time.

I'm adding dozens of items every week and I have to put them into collections. I upgraded from my K4 NT because the touch interface was supposed to make it easier, and it did, until this new version arrived.

I wish I hadn't updated
