Lost my PRS-T2 what to do now?
Hello yesterday I've lost my e-reader (or someone robbed it)
![]() ![]() ![]() So I have to buy a new one but this time I want to do the right thing, I don't like the original Sony Firmware as I cannot order the books in directories as I did in my PRS-350, so I want a rootable device. So I ask there's some site that sell PRS-T2 with rootable firmware or the only way to found one is to buy an used one? The PRS-T3 is interesting yes, but as the rooting possibilities are so low I, sincerely, don't want put my moneys on it. P.S. The alternative is to found a PRS-T1, if the differences are not so much from the T2. All PRS-T1 are rootable, right? They have not firmwares problems with it? |

I was in the same situtation a few weeks back. With reservations, i ordered a Kobo. But then thanks to Kobo's awfulness, the Kobo never arrived & the T-2 rematerialised. May you be so lucky.

![]() Regarding the T1, if I'm not mistaken it doesn't have the Evernote integration. Is that feature important to you? I can't tell about the ability to root the T3 but the fast charging thing seems pretty nifty. |

I suggest you to buy the excellent T3.
Of course, waiting for some months,T3 will be rooted. I think. |

I bet there's countless Forumites beavering away as we speak ...... Probly a prize would speed things up - say, a T3 to replace a bricked one . Not that our techies would do such a thing .... ![]() Last edited by carpetmojo; 11-19-2013 at 11:01 AM. Reason: Grammar boob .. |

I'm a Sony fan so the PRS-T3 attire me a lot, but to be honest the Kobo(s) are interesting devices too and reading in the subforum they seem opened (?) or really easy hackerable and this is a big plus for me
![]() The PRS-T3 will be rooted do you say? It's a lottery in which it is risky put moneys, our Russian friends seems to not have ideas or time or motivations to "fix" the PRS-T2, so the same problem is for the PRS-T3, too... I'm convinced myself that if they found a way to jailbreak PRS-T3, the same solution will be applicable to the PRS-T2 ![]() @samhy No I've ever used Evernote, the only "advanced" feature I was using was the notepad, a bad idea seen what is happened: I've lost all of them ![]() I have a little hope (really little) maybe I've forgot it in the BUS and the BUS company has a lost-and-found office, I'll try to see if it is there... |

I went from Sony to Kobo because of the better language support, although the dictionaries aren't as good as the ones on Sony devices. The Mini is a nice little buddy if you don't want a lighted ereader. Also a cheap one
![]() However the Sony firmware is more consistent and that's important for you to understand that. Yet I should count myself lucky since my Kobo ereaders aren't suffering from bugs noticed by others. |

The Kobo as a big plus I've seen in the subforum: no jailbreak is needed and so you can install whatever you want, CoolReader is already here ready to use (disguised as a chess App if I understand well
![]() If Kobo has released the sources of the Firmware and the toolchain to cross-compilie it anyone could fix eventual bugs... Android could be installed if one know German as the instruction aren't translated ![]() |
