Calibre 1.11.0 Vitrual Lib-Names with ampersand at Content Server
Hi Kovid,

there seems to be a little problem with virtual libraries names containing an ampersand. These are not accessable in the content server.

An example:
Virtual libreary name: SciFi && Fantasy
Display name in calibre: SciFi & Fantasy
Display name content server : SciFi && Fantasy

Error message content server see attached picture.

Encountering the 500 error, and reading this thread, I attempted to drop back to 1.9.0 and failed to get a working install.

Can we expect a new and working revision?

Any suggestions on working around the 1.10.0 problem?

It looks like you'll have to wait until Friday when version 1.12 is released.

Until then you can change the name of the VL name so it doesn't include an ampersand.

Thanks. Under my "virtual libraries" tab, the edit and remove items are greyed out. I presume that means that I have no virtual libraries. I further presume that my 500 error is not associated with the virtual library ampersand problem. I certainly regret my rash decision to "upgrade" :-)

If you don't have an & in your virtual or MAIN Library name:
you may have a damaged DB. Run the full Maintenance (and fix the issues ) .

It could be a corrupt file as part of the upgrade. Uninstall: Delete the Calibre2 program Folder: Reinstall (point the installer at the correct Library if asked)

delete/rename server.py in the Calibre configuration folder (You will lose all content server settings). The file will be created when you do a fresh server configuration
