That sound you just heard was me finding The Chocolate Thief by Laura Florand for 1.99 at ARe. Finally. I might have bought a couple ( or 8) more books from my wishlist. Total cost:19 dollar .

Tammara Webber revealed the name and cover of her prequel to Easy:

This is Lucas's side of things. I am. So. Psyched!

Loosheesh, I loved Easy as well.[IIRC we talked about Easy a long time ago] May 6 is a long time to wait!

OT, but I'm excited for Samantha Towle's new book [author of Mighty Storm]. Trouble comes out Nov 20.

I loved Easy. Its still the standard for me of this new fandangled thing called new adult and very few I read after come even close.
But I just have no interest in reading rehashed stories from the other character side. Its like reading the same story again to me. I am not liking that trend.
I also don't like to read a prequel after I read the sequel, if that makes sense. I like to read in order. Chronological order. Anything else makes me twitch.

Its why I am still pulling my hair out trying to decide how to read the Joanne Bourne novels.

I think I have resisted buying anything this week because I was just filling a new collection on my Kindle. Its basically a collection for next in series. So much stuff, no matter the sub genre seems to be series. And I have about 450 unread paid for books on my kindle. I know, me bad. .
So I am going through the list and put in the collection whats next, or the first in series, since I am so OCD about reading in order.

I found books I didn't even knew I had on my kindle. So I really need to read some of the stuff I already bought before loading up on more. I have stuff I bought in 2008 I haven't read yet. .

Of course if there is some big sale coming up, all bets are off. I mean my mental strength isn't quite that good.

We did! May 6, 2014, please get here quickly. That is all. Thank you!

The new ST looks interesting. Wonder if it's standalone (as in not part of/will not be part of a series)

Sorry, I’ve been without cable/internet all day. I can’t complain because my poor aunt is still without power. We didn’t get one of the tornados, but there’s still lots of wind damage, downed trees, etc.

So not reading this year. Plan to start at the beginning in the new year and maybe by next Christmas I'll be there probably not but oh well.

I think in this instance if she'd just started out with brand new series she might actually garner more readers, having so many interconnected books is a bit of a turn-off.
I am a big stickler for reading books in order. That said, the Gerard series don’t have to all be read in order to enjoy the books. The books are linked by characters only, NOT plot.

She’s gotten stronger as a writer over the years. There were a number of her Bodyguards books I didn’t like, but I am glad I stuck with her.

Here are my ratings for the various books. As you can see they run the gamut from 1 to 5 stars (Putting in a spoiler as I've listed the couples for each book which I know some people consider that spoilerish):
Spoiler:
Bodyguards
1) To the Edge - Nolan & Jillian (May 2005) <2 stars>
2) To the Limit - Eve & Tyler (Sept 2005) <3 stars>
3) To the Brink – Ethan & Darcy / slightly Dallas & Amy (Jan 2006) <5 Stars>
4) Over the Line – Jason & Janey (June 2006) <1 star>
5) Under the Wire – Manny & Lily (Dec 2006) <3 stars>
6) Into the Dark – Dallas & Amy / Gabe & Jenna (June 2007)* <4 stars>

*Black Ops Inc (series is a spin-off of Bodyguards, many characters introduced in Into the Dark)
1) Show No Mercy – Gabe & Jenna / Nate & Juliana (Oct 2008) <5 stars>
2) Take No Prisoners – Sam & Abbie (Nov 2008) <1 Star>
3) Whisper No Lies – Johnny & Crystal (Jan 2009) <2 stars>
4) Feel the Heat – Raphael & BJ / Joe & Stephanie (Sept 2009) <3 stars>
5) Risk No Secrets – Wyatt & Sophie / Nate & Juliana (May 2010) <3 stars>
6) “Leave No Trace” – David & Carrie (Sept 2010) <3 stars>
7) With No Remorse – Luke & Valentina (July 2011)° <3 stars>
8) “SEALed with a Kiss” - Luke & Valentina (Nov 2011) <2 stars>
9) Last Man Standing – Joe & Stephanie (Feb 2012)° <4 stars>
10) “Dying to Score” – Johnny & Crystal (June 2012) <2 stars>

°One-Eyed Jacks (series is a continuation of Black Ops, Inc, some characters introduced in With No Remorse/Last Man Standing)
1) Killing Time – Mike & Eva (Feb 2013) <4 stars>
2) The Way Home – Tyler & Jess / Jeff & Rabia (Feb 2013) <4 stars>

The only books which need to be read in order are: To the Brink then Into the Dark (as the events in To the Brink are referred to multiple times). I would read both of those before reading Show No Mercy as the main Black Ops Inc crew are introduced in Into the Dark.

The Way Home totally works as a stand-alone novel. Though the h/h meet in Last Man Standing both are minor characters in that book.

Both of the short stories (8 and 10) in the Black Ops Inc series are totally okay to skip. They are short stories, not even novella length.

That said, I understand if you feel the need to read all of the books in order.

Published order is how I always read otherwise you deal with changes in writer's skill like newer books are more develop and then switch to a older one and it just doesn't flowed. The exception is if they are published in the same year then I don't like spoilers.

Yep I have to! Can't read out of order ever. It's just drive me nuts that something may be reference and I have no clue what or who it is. That happen to be with Sweet Dreams which means I have to reread it someday after I read The Gamble but none of would make sense if I didn't read the Rock Chick series first.

Easy for me was not a romance. Lucus was a secondary character so this book is much needed. He never took center stage and the romance between the h/h was just not believable enough with what little time on screen they had. There was little to no chemistry but the story line was good. It's a more coming of age story than a romance so I can't use it as a standard.

My favorite thing about NA is the coming of age aspect because this is what I most relate to, and for that Easy is my standard. It could've ended with Jacqueline and Lucas just being friends and I would've loved it the same
