I don't know if I will or not I still read on my phone at times. I tweak my own fonts so that really isn't a issue it's no way I can read with a blue border that is so dominant it washes out the text in the dark and that's why I got it. I love the Paperwhite but it has its limitations that tablet doesn't however I am going to miss immersion reading.

You guys (not you, of course, apesmom ) are awful! I found myself giving the Nexus 7 a good long look but I resisted ... barely I love my SGP5 and would love an actual Android tablet but I'm trying to save up for an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4 (which is US$800.00 at Best Buy )

Like the rest of you I was good (but that's mostly because I couldn't find much to buy that's actually couponable ):

1. Daphne du Maurier: Omnibus 3
2. In the Clear by Tamara Morgan
3. Infinite Possibilities by Lisa Renee Jones (Blossom, please read this so you can let me know if, like the first book, it ends on a cliffhanger )
4. Kinked by Thea Harrison

Spent $8.22 total.

Romance-related, I read:

1. Kinked by Thea Harrison (4.5 stars) - Great addition to the series; enjoyed it a LOT! I first read a library copy and bought my own copy later with the 80% code. Haven't (yet) received the print copy I was supposed to have won on Twitter

2. Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye (3 stars) - Just OK for me.

3. Isabella by Loretta Chase (4 stars) - I wasn't too taken with the romance but I liked the characters and the humor. I love Loretta Chase's books

4. In the Clear by Tamara Morgan (4 stars) - Lovely novella (rec'd by Laura Florand over at DA, so I had to get it ); I want to read more by the author.

I'm currently reading Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny (35%) and The Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley (46%). Both are quite good so far.

I'm also so proud of me: I find myself reading more and more of my purchased books and that's make me feel better about buying

The SGP 4.2 has a better screen for reading. I could not be happier with it. The text rendering is pretty sharp compare to the 5 which is its downfall and you can use it in the dark as the home key is actually button so it doesn't blind you.

I'll let you know about the Nexus 7 when I get it. I say the Kindle Fire HDX is a gamble you have to consider the risk involved for that reason I can't recommend it.

Some bargains from various publishers, so far only dropped on Amazon

Coming Home (Chesapeake Diaries #1) by Mariah Stewart [Random House/Ballentine] - $1.99

Quote:
In the wake of his wife’s murder, agent Grady Shields turned his back on the FBI—and everything else—to retreat into the vast solitude of Montana, grieve for his lost love, and forget the world. But after years in seclusion, his sister’s wedding draws him to St. Dennis, a peaceful town on the Chesapeake Bay. Though he swears he isn’t interested in finding love again, Grady can’t ignore the mutual sparks that fly when he meets Vanessa Keaton.

Although her past was marked by bad choices, Vanessa has found that coming to St. Dennis is the best decision she’s ever made. Bling, her trendy boutique, is a success with tourists as well as with the townspeople. She’s made friends, has a home she loves, and has established a life for herself far from the nightmare she left behind. The last thing she’s looking for is romance, but the hot new man in town is hard to resist. And when Vanessa’s past catches up with her, Grady finds that he’s unwilling to let her become a victim again. As together they fight her demons, Grady and Vanessa discover that life still holds some surprises and that love doesn’t always have to hurt.
The Chief (Highland Guard #1) by Monica McCarty [Random House/Ballentine] - $1.99

Quote:
AN ELITE FIGHTING FORCE UNLIKE THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN . . .

Scouring the darkest corners of the Highlands and Western Isles, Robert the Bruce handpicks ten warriors to help him in his quest to free Scotland from English rule. They are the best of the best, chosen for their superior skills in each discipline of warfare. And to lead his secret Highland Guard, Bruce chooses the greatest warrior of all.

The ultimate Highland warlord and a swordsman without equal, Tor MacLeod has no intention of being drawn into Scotland’s war against the English. Dedicated to his clan, the fiercely independent chief answers to no one—especially not to his alluring new bride, bartered to him in a bid to secure his command of the deadliest fighting force the world has ever seen. The treacherous chit who made her way to Tor’s bed may have won his hand, but she will never claim his heart.

Although her husband’s reputation is as fierce as his manner, Christina Fraser believes that something softer hides beneath his brutal shell. But the only warmth she feels is in their bed, in glorious moments of white-hot desire that disappear with the dawn. When Christina’s reckless bid to win her husband’s love goes awry and thrusts them into danger on the eve of war, Tor will face his ultimate battle: to save his wife and to open his heart—before it’s too late.

Rapture's Edge (Night Prowler #3) by J.T. Geissinger [Amazon/Montlake] - $0.99

Quote:
SECRETS... In the hidden world that exists beside our own, a mirror world of ancient magic and elegant deceptions, a world of people who are so much more than they first appear, a war is brewing. Most of these Gifted people--the Ikati, a savage, sensual race of lethal predators--are content to hide behind human smiles, disguising their splendor in order to survive. But others are discontent. And they will hide no longer.

BETRAYALS... Eliana lives for two things only: vengeance on the man who killed her father and seeing her father's dream of living in the open with humans come to pass. But that dream is far too dangerous for The Hunt, a group of elite Ikati assassins with one objective: eliminate her before she can expose their secrets to the world.

SEDUCTION... Demetrius is haunted by the memory of the woman he once loved. He will risk everything to save her from the killers on her tail... and convince her, before the ancient walls between two worlds crumble, that only together can they defeat their real enemy, a brilliant, cunning traitor far more deadly than either of them can guess.

ETA: I JUST re-did my TBR list this past week, and already I'm having a hard time sticking to it! Anybody else have this 'problem'?

I did before I basically brought nearly everything available on it with the magic coupon. Now my Wish List is all older books that have yet to be released digitally and upcoming new releases. Plus a bunch of older Harlequins that I won't buy at Kobo due to their formatting issues.

So I'm actually looking for stuff to add to my To Buy List even though I haven't even processing all the new books I bought last month. Yes I am a book buying addict

As for my TBR List, that's alphabetical by author, with series books listed in order. I always pick whatever I'm in the mood for, I don't go in the order of my actual list.

If anyone has a Kindle Fire with special offers, apparently one of the offers today is a Paperwhite for $19. Not sure what version.

ETA: Never mind, I guess they sold out. But that was a sweet deal.

There's no way I could order my TBR list. Before I joined the Romance Readers Reading Challenges group on GR, the only way I could make a decision (because I COULDN'T make decisions!) was to go alphabetically picking from the top then from the bottom for the next one, then the top again and so on. It worked for me for the most part, though I had to give myself permission to skip a book if I didn't feel in the mood for it. That sounds crazy, I know, but once I created the 'rule' on how to read my TBR, I felt guilty if I didn't stick to it

Now that I do the Challenges group, I'm finding that I am reading my TBR pretty regularly, so I'm glad I joined. Depending on the particular challenge, I can almost always find a book on my list to meet the challenge requirements.

Not to say that this has curbed my buying tendencies at all...as you'll see from my weekly confession post

Don't you just hate when you buy a book and find out it's part of a series so you buy the first book seeing it's second then find out it's part of a spin off!

There's nothing in the description mentioning it either or I wouldn't have grabbed it.

So looks like this Christmas book will be for next year.
