I bought the Poetic Slimline Case $13 as I have two of them for the HDX and love them. Luckily I got them on sale so I am only losing $10 for both. I gotta pack up the HDX today and get it off tomorrow so hopefully I get my refund before Black Friday as I am pretty broke till then but the Nexus 7 16GB will be here on Tuesday. All paid for with Swagbucks.

This is going to be a very slim book buying week for me due to buying the tablet but I gave my original KF to hubby.

So I need a good tablet ASAP.

Believe it or not Amazon sells them directly!

I called Kindle Support and was on hold for over an hour and the guy I got didn't speak English he spoke rapid broken English

He finally handed me off to a Kindle specialist who was American. He told me the truth there was no way to guarantee the next replacement would be better and he was willing to replace it. So I ask for a refund and I ask if I had to pay shipping and he said no they would cover it so now I wait for my refund.

I originally told him my plans were to downgrade to a HD model but I just can't go through anymore replacement games again if there is something wrong with it so I ordered the Nexus 7 after playing with it at Walmart two weekends back it's a lovely tablet. The HDX has more vibrant color but here's the thing. The HDX blue LEDs are not optimal for reading in the dark! I got alot eye strain and a headache trying though

The way the light projects to the screen reminds me of my laptop which I think when they made the HDX they went for movies watcher not for real Kindle use.

I splurged and got the M edge Stealth 360. I'm not sold on the color (they only had black and pink, I got pink), but I like the way it does both portrait and landscape mode. None of the ones I looked at Amazon last night did portrait. And though I have that lovely pyramid pillow you suggested in the other thread, I wanted an actual case for the Nexus.

My son got me the Fire 7 inch ($139) and I love it. But I only wanted / need something to read pdf documents on. For me it is perfect. I don't need glasses but wear them for reading to prevent eye strain. I m debating between the Nexus 7 and the iPad mini that will be on sale at Wal-mart black Friday. I really just need someone to tell me buy this one (or that one) and I will be happy. I can't decide.

I also need a case for the fire but have not found one I like.

Well the iPad Mini if it's the newest one will have the best display but it's like $400 and the Nexus 7 16GB is $220 so for me it's easy to choose. There is no way I would ever pay $400 for a tablet. I can get a laptop for that price. The HD Kindle Fire doesn't use blue LEDs so I imagine it's a great tablet for the price. I may get one later down the road but for now the Nexus 7 will do.

I'd be surprised if you didn't have a really hard time moving back from the pixel density of the HDX and Nexus 7.2 back to the Kindle HD. Maybe not for gaming or watching video but you should really notice it as a reader.

I've actually paid more than $400 for my last tablet (GT 7.7) and dumped it in favor of the Nexus 7.2, the screen is that much improved!

I confess that it's really getting hard to find books to buy.

I had to really search to use that 80% code on all 3 accounts. I did get a few $0.99 Avon deals so that I could get the Rosie Project as my free book at ARe. All my purchases were in the $0.90 - $1.32 range. Not bad.

Mortal Ties (Lupi #9) - Eileen Wilks - 4.0
and a bunch of short stories to get myself caught up on Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Other World series. All 3.0-4.0, she's pretty good with short stories but probably because I'm invested in the characters from the novels.
