I'm going to go look at the Nexus 7's tomorrow at Staples. The allure of the pretty shiny is defeating my just-be-practical mantra

I saw it at Walmart and was surprise how nice the form factor is.

Okay Gift Card came through so it's ordered and should be here by Tuesday now I just hope that Amazon gets the HDX and processes my refund before Black Friday so I can buy stuff!

After seeing both in person today, I have to bleat that, in terms of screen and sound, the KF HDX 8.9 obliterates the N7.2. If the current KF owner weren't stuck with the Amazon ecosystem (latest-gen KFs are nigh impossible to root, correct?), I'd have picked one up. But at $219.00 for the 32GB N7.2, I couldn't help but snatch the latter.

I am trying very hard to resist the lure of the pretty shiny, but it is an ongoing battle! The $50-off coupon at Staples has been especially difficult to resist, but so far I've been able to stay strong. I...will...not...give...in.

That's what I paid for the 32GB with the coupon. I was going to get the 16GB, but decided on the 32 since I may in the future want to add movies or something and there's no external SD card slot.

Storage is not a issue with me I have never even come close to maxing out 5GB on any of my devices. The KFv1 was 8GB and so are my SGPs so 16GB is great!

Yes, considering that the paperwhite is a whopping 2gb, a 16gb tablet is fantastic.

I have the 8gb Nook HD, but have a 32gb card in it, so 40gb, no way will I ever fill it up! It's nice to have that much space in a hand held device, though!

It's shipped! I got a free month of Prime so I'll have it come Black Friday. So it shipped pretty quick. It's says the 19th but it being shipped from KY so I could get it tomorrow maybe.

I have a 16GB card in my Clip and never came close to filling it up. I don't even use cards in anything but my phone which has only 180MB of space with one. I got a 8GB card in it.

Stuck with the Amazon ecosystem in what way? I have no idea about the rootability of the HDX's, but they allow for the sideloading of apps so one can easily add the Nook & Kobo apps, not to mention third party reading apps some of which are in the Amazon app store last I checked. For video you have not only Amazon, but Netfilx, Flixster & Hulu+ available and the Vudu app sideloads just fine. Totally agree the the HDX 8.9 is amazing, it's definitely on my short list of possible tablets (not that the Nexus 7.2 is bad or anything, it's on the list too).
