That's a beautiful photo!! You always manage to get some great shots on your vacations. If you have a photo editor, please level out the horizon line in this one. (Otherwise the sea will all spill out of the right side of the picture!) Then it will be picture 'perfect!'

Thank you for your nice comments about my pictures. When I'm home I'll go over them with a photo editor, I haven't got any on my notebook.

It's another beautiful, sunny morning. We haven't got much planned except a trip to the shop in the afternoon. But now I have the apartment to myself since my sister is sleeping in (she missed another beautiful sunrise).

Tonight Children in Need is on the BBC and we can finally watch it until the end, normally we both work on Saturday so we have to go to bed in time.

We've planned an early dinner because we're making pancakes and since I know I'm not very good at baking those and my sister has no experience at all in making them we want to be sure the snackbar is still open in case we end up with inedible pancakes .

Thank you, it's beautiful. I love rainbows, but they never seem to come out as beautiful in my photos, as what I saw. One of these days, I'll actually read the instructions for all the buttons and dials on my camera.

dreams: don't bother, they don't help. At least, trying to remember what they do when trying to capture the picture at the right moment has never worked for me.

I have a great waterproof camera that works for me. We have one of the huge camera's with extra lens that is never used. Is there something inbetween? I wouldn't mind a camera that I could play with that does a bit more but isn't the size of my arm.

Look at the Sony Alpha... Little bitty thing that takes great big pictures. It can do most of the things my Pro Nikon can do, but at 1/4 the weight and size.

Right now I'm sitting and looking out the window at the night sky. It's the beginning of the Loy Krathong holiday and there are a thousand glowing hot air paper balloons floating upwards over Chiang Mai, with constant displays of fireworks shooting up from different parts of town. Being on the 15th floor with nothing blocking our view, we get to see almost everything that goes up! Tomorrow night we'll go down to the center of town to get some good photos ourselves of all the people releasing their balloons. And photos of the fire trucks racing around town trying to put out the roof and tree fires.

Well, the pancake making didn't work out. Not so much my pancake baking skills (which were surprisingly good) but we didn't like the taste of this mixture, we normally have another brand but it was sold out. Beforehand my sister and I agreed that I would do the baking if she would go to the snackbar if we didn't like the pancakes, so she's on her way now to get fries/chips and snacks.

We've had a lot of different weather this week whilst we're on vacation. We've had rain, sun, rain and sun (and thus a rainbow). Now it's misty, we can hardly see the boundary between the marina and the lake. Now, if only we got a thunderstorm, which would look beautiful over the water, I would be very happy.

Thousands of fire balloons in the air tonight! I've got my cameras set up on tripods in the windows, one set on long, slow exposure and the other set for fast. The winds are playing with the balloons, and the slow exposures are showing long streaks of yellow light going across the sky over the city! There are only a couple of tall buildings in the city, so nothing blocks the good views. Every once in a while someone sets off some fireworks, but the real display won't start for another hour. I'll be ready. Meanwhile, Felicity hasn't been seen since the first firecracker went off two hours ago. She's hunkered down in the back of the closet and won't come out until tomorrow...
