Delete multiple books?
When I first got my HD+ I added just over 1000 books to it.
Then I discovered the Calibre Companion app, which I installed and added all my books into it. So now I have all my books in two places on my HD+. I only want them to be in the Calibre app, not in my HD+ library but I cant work out how to delete them all. I can go into the library and delete each one individually but there doesnt seem to be any option to delete multiple books at once. I tried connecting the HD+ to my laptop, which is how I added them all in the first place, but I cant find the books. I have looked in every folder on both the HD+ and the SD card but they arent there. The 'Books' folders on both the HD+ and SD card are empty. The books on the Nook are stored on a hidden folder. That is why you do not see them.
If you delete a book, it wil be removed from your B&N account, and you will have to buy it again if you ever want to download a new copy from B&N again. What I would do is create a new B&N account using another e-mail adress (for example from gmail). Erase and deregister your Nook, and register it again with the new account. This will remove all B&N content from the Nook, and as the new account has an empty library nothing will be syn'ed to your Nook. Use the B&N website on your PC to buy e-books using your old account, and download them from that account for use with Calibre. This also has the advantage that all your B&N content will be still available in the B&N cloud to download new copies if needed. |

Open Calibre on your computer, then connect your device by USB. Calibre should automatically recognize your device and a new On Device column should appear in left side of the Calibre GUI with all the books on the device shown with a green check mark next to them.
Select any or all of them by left clicking on the first one then continue clicking on successive titles while holding down the shift or control key (depending on whether you want to delete all of them or only selected titles). Then click the down arrow next to the Remove button in Calibre and select the last option, Remove From Device. It's fast and easy. I don't use Calibre Companion but don't think it will make a difference in the process. If Calibre can't find them, the only other solution I have is to install the ES File Explorer app from Google Play and look for them that way. I never recommend using Windows Explorer to search and delete files from your device. It's too easy to make mistakes. If you have to manually delete book files, you may find that the Clean Master app will help delete any left over files and cached data. I've never used it for this purpose so don't know if it will work for this. Last edited by jscarbo; 11-15-2013 at 12:41 PM. |

Did you add the books directly from BN, or via Calibre, or via drag and drop?
If they were side loaded, did you put them on the device or on a card? If you put them on the device straight from BN, you may have to do as geertm suggested. If you side loaded them, you should be able to find them. I recently began using Calibre Companion. I had to change the directory in CC to go to where I wanted it, on my SD card, instead of the default, the device. Once I did that, it actually moved my books to the card. And while connected wirelessly to Calibre, it shows duplicates (when there are some). At that point, I can highlight all the ones that show as duplicates, right in Calibre, and choose to delete them from the device, in bulk. In other words, I can use Calibre, on my computer, to delete the duplicates on the device, while connected wirelessly, and do it in bulk. |
