Just an update. I am taking the tablet back to Walmart tomorrow. It can't play certain ads that my SGP5 can so it's useless to me.
I figure out why I hate it. It has this screen where it has to lay flat to see anything or you get a negative image look if you hold it normal or at angle it looks dim and unreadable so it has to be flat. What a stupid design ![]() |

Do you want me to try the swagbucks app on my Nook HD? That tablet is super awesome. You should consider one. Or the Fire HD from last year, if you can get it cheap enough. Even the 2012 Fire non-HD was very good. |

Kindle Fire's don't work well with the apps. I hear it all the time on Facebook or I would keep my KFv1 and get him a HD. I am going to Walmart to exchange it later today for a Next book 7 we will see how that works out. If the screen wasn't so crappy on the RCA 7 it would be a nice tablet to play with. It doesn't seem slow to me at all. Not too fond of Jelly Bean it seems to be over complicated. Gingerbread to me is still the best! I'm thinking the ad issue may be lack of flash. I should have tried to install the plugin first but I hate the screen it gave me a headache so for $10 more I don't mind paying it to stay pain free. If I got a really nice tablet I wouldn't use it for Swagbucks as I am sure the apps suck the life out of the tablet as it would running for 8 hours or more a day. |

If you try to find one of those units (that supports PS2 games) you'll end up paying quite a premium. I'd suggest keeping the PS2. |

Well I took the RCA tablet back and got the Nextbook 7 Premium. It's a nice tablet the display is okay nothing close to real tablet like a Kindle Fire, HD or HDX or Nexus but it's okay.
However I am learning that these apps are not Jelly Bean compatible. I get blank ads and flashing video when the video plays. I can't believe I was told this would work with the apps. However the person wanting a geez wiz tablet this is perfect. Edit: I've decided to keep it. One app works okay and Screen dim stops the flashing.(this a app specific it plays Netflix and everything else nicely.) That's the video app I run all day anyway. It's a really nice budget tablet but it does have a view angle to it but it's not too bad. Charges really quickly too. I think it took about 3 hours. It comes with the Nook app installed but the site also has the Kobo app. Not going to put that one on. It has Google Play so that is a plus. This is a great tablet I think for older kids. It's a bit hefty but weighs less than the original Kindle Fire which is 14 ounces. My Kindle Zip sleeve for the HDX works great for it. My only real complain is the top layer of the screen is a fingerprint magnet and cleaning the screen makes it look more dirty so you got to really make sure the cloth is a tad damp to get the oil off. I first though maybe there was one of those plastic layers on top but that doesn't seem to be the case here. So moms and dads if you are looking to get your kid a tablet but don't want to pay much this is a nice one that is dual core 1.5 processor and lots of extras that more expensive tablets have. My 7" Acer tablet screen has issues when viewed at a certain angle, but it's better when I flip the tablet upside down. Just thought I'd mention that in case it helps with your Nextbook. |
