Amazon Kindlematch tempts epubber

I committed to the epub format before downloading my first ebook. So far I've had no reason to revisit the decision, until now.

I came across Kindlematch recently. Currently I have 10-20 ebook matches, but that seems probable to increase over time to 100+. At $2-$3 versus $8-$12 for "retail" (epub) versions, it seems worth considering.

I would still use one epub reader, and depend on Calibre to convert whatever formats come in, into epub.

I have no idea how fraught with difficulty that/those format conversions are. How much can I count on usable results using a purely automatic process? I don't want to spend time fiddling with each book.

I use Calibre on automatic with Kindle books, default settings. No issues whatsoever, works perfectly.

I will second that, all my books work perfectly too.

Note that most books will probably have DRM so you may have to become a friend of Apprentice Alf. If you aren't already.

Also, I don't know how many ePubs you already have, but if most of your books will (end up) be(ing) Amazon books, why not switch to using the kindle ereader?
