I had the same problem and contacted customer service. You cant use promo codes if you use ios. I was told to use a windows pc. I still had trouble when using internet explorer but it worked when i used chrome. I told them so they are aware. I dont think they plan on fixing or addressing ios or internet explorer to use promo codes.

I found the email from customer service to see. I was using a ipad. So it says computer or laptop. I would contact them.


Unfortunately our iOS Application do not accept Promo Codes; you need to redeem your code through a computer or laptop (this also applied to Kobo Wireless eReaders, BlackBerry/Android Applications.)

On the first screen you enter the payment info (credit card or gift card, if not already there). Click on "Continue" and it will take you to another screen where there is a spot to enter the coupon code. There are some screen shots in the main Kobo coupon code.

Thanks to library addict I found out the promo codes DO WORK on iOS - you have to click your payment method then hit continue, after hitting continue you will go to the next screen which allows you to enter a promo code. (provided the book is couponable - I know that is not a word)

I purchased 4 books yesterday at Kobo using the bookriot50 coupon once I understood the flow of the checkout. Good Luck!

I know the feeling. I've decided to drink the Kool Aid and get some and added a bunch more to my wishlist, and now my Amazon recommendations are full of hunky guys with piercings.

But first, I have to finish the bookshelf I'm decoupaging. I'm decorating it with photos of old Gothic Romance covers.
