The Kindle Paperwhite is the only ereader I own. I have a Nexus 7 (tablet) and an HTC One (phone) but I don't read books on them, I much prefer an eInk reader.
If I were you, I'd keep the PW1 and 2 as well as the iPad Mini 4G only. Last edited by Gazella; 11-09-2013 at 12:22 PM. |

"That's what relatives are for, to inherit your device overflow."
My inlaws gave us a lot of their old stuff when we were first married. Someone asked my father-in-law what he wanted. His reply was "I've got everything in the world I want." To which I said, "And I have everything in the world you did not want." :-) |

I've given away two Kindles and a Sony. I don't think any of them have seen the light of day since.
![]() I have a BooxM90 and a Sony 950 that I want to unload. I can't seem to find where I hid the M90s cover, or I would have sold that one already. |

I actually own the 1st gen Mini. So if I get the new one, I'll sell the 1st gen Mini and possibly, return or sell my iPad air. In other words, I kind of see myself with only one iPad, instead of two. But I wanted to give the iPad air a try, hold it, read, browse Internet with it. The issue is that it's impossible to compare actual usage against the new Mini, because it's not being sold yet. Online reviews give you an idea of what to expect but they are just that, reviews. I like to decide that myself.

I have 3 eink readers and 2 tablets-
Kobo Glo - read on the most Kobo Mini - Great for on the go Paperwhite 2 - traded up from the PW1. I really only use it for the monthly prime book. My son uses it, too. It's a nice device, but much heavier than my Glo. Nook HD7 - I love reading on this. It's just much heavier than my Glo. I do read on it a lot at home. Kindle Fire HD7 rooted with n2a - mainly for reading news (flipboard) and web site browsing. I don't read on it much, never really have read on novels on it. |

Right now, I bring my old. Mini at work. It's 4G, with Verizon, and the reason it's not wifi it's because Tmobile's reception is bad there. I use my iPad at coffee shops and when I'm at home. |

I feel your pain and know I have too many devices. The past few weeks I've been trying to give-away or sell as much as I can. I'm tired of keeping devices charged and updated.
Recently I was able to pass 3 of my 7 Kindles to others. -Kindle DX went to my 86 year old father (upgraded from the Kindle 2 I gave him a few months ago). He loves the bigger screen. -Kindle 2 going to a 6 year old nephew -Kindle 3 to my Aunt who already has a Kindle 3 she loves but it has a lot of wear and tear while mine was pristine I also took my 5 year old Windows desktop to recycling this morning. I'm switching to laptops only (3 down from 4). Now I just have to find homes for my 2 HP Touchpads and Boxee Box. :-) |

In my car, I have an actual plug-in electrical outlet. During the days after Sandy when I didn't have power, I just went down to the car, started it up, and charged up my laptops and ereaders. Because the news reports had been predicting that the storm would hit land here, I had stocked up on few clip-on lights and batteries for them and my radio, and made sure I had a full tank of gas. I knew that I wasn't going to be driving anywhere, because nothing was open, so I was good to go. ![]() |
