I'm off the wagon again. I was hoping to make it to the 14th, and an entire month without any kind of book purchase (it's been about six weeks since my last ebook purchase, but I bought a couple of used pbs on the 14th of October).

I was just looking up the recent World Fantasy Award winner, Alif the Unseen by G Willow Wilson, on Amazon, for possible addition to my wishlist, and it turned out to be a very reasonable £2.99, so I thought I might as well just buy it. And then, having opened the door, I decided to get Jo Nesbo's The Bat from my wishlist, seeing as it was temporarily down to £1.99 (seems to be back up over £3 again now.)

[P.S. fewer purchases A minor point, but less just sounds wrong to me.]
No, you are right. It should be fewer since ebooks can be counted and the number of purchases as well. Not sure what happened there since I generally try to pay attention to that. I blame exhaustion due to excessive ebook shopping.

I have only purchased 5 ebooks in the last 2 months (Kobo coupons - would have been worse if all the publishers were still being enablers)....but my trigger finger still has a click problem when it comes to free...doesn't matter if I may not read it. "I am the gate keeper" to my whole family, someone else might like it

I try to limit my eBook buying to one a week. One of my favorite authors has a new book out this month so I will have to get that one

I've been doing something very forbidden these last three months: Reading a hardcover novel.

I've found that while I bought my Kobo in hopes of stopping the growth of my physical stacks and starting their reduction, the latter doesn't seem to be happening. It's just much easier to go to the next ebook than it is to pick up a languishing Ent corpse. In fact, thanks to Kobo's "display cover while off" feature, I feel compelled to start a new ebook as soon as I finish another - which, in turn, leads to reading that ebook instead of something from the physical stacks.

Incidentally, the physical stacks are still growing, but very slowly. I now tend to limit those to graphic novels and other cases where format has more of an impact, though - such as House of Leaves.

The hardcover I'm reading now was a gift. But the last few physical books I've purchased were graphic comics. I'm stuck on Justice League and Superman.
