Embedded, thanks. Yes, I had the same thing, where anything below 10 % (way too bright for me in a dark room) was set to 1 % and therefore "off". Too bad I can't adjust it anymore though, or it gets set back to 1 % and therefore "off", but I can live with it for a while. I've gone back to 2.9 now so I can use Kobo Nickel.

I have KoboDesktop 3.4 but I still don't receive 2.10 update for my Glo. There has been previously some talks about affiliate.conf file and its values. I just checked the file and noticed that mine value is whsmith. Should I change it to Kobo (what is the right format (kobo or Kobo or something else))? And what does this affiliate acutally mean?

No update this morning when I synched. So I put mondadori as affiliate and right after the firmware started to download

The Aura HD is charging so I can't play with it now.

Good to know i'm not the only one noticing a delay on sleep mode. Not that i'm glad that other people have it, it's just good to know it's not a hardware issue on my end >_>

Is there any way to bring back the full screen refresh when entering and exiting the reading menu (tapping the middle of the screen)? Maybe manually setting an obscure option in the config file? I read a lot of manga on my Aura HD and that's how i used to get rid of ghosting on dark pages (i also used it every once in a while on text when it starts looking "thin"), the only "fix" is having the refresh rate set to every page.

Also, Pocket integration is somewhat disappointing. Sure, GameFaqs FAQs and Walkthroughs look much better that downloading the text file (damn breaks and line changing made most of them unreadable) but there are plenty of sites that don't appear on my Kobo (for example, Top 10 Lists from GameFaqs or TV Tropes articles).

My delay is 30+ seconds and now after ejecting and disconnecting it is sitting like a great black lump saying connected and charged.

Apologies to everybody for talking about something other than 2.10, but I just wanted to say to Embedded: I solved the light bug by going all the way back to 2.6.1b. That made the bug go away, and now I've gone up to 2.8.1 and then 2.9 and the light bug hasn't reappeared. Perhaps this will work for you also. Personally I'll sit tight at 2.9 until they fix Kobo Nickel again :-)

Have you tried my modified Charis SIL? If not, give it a try. You might not care about Kobo Nickel after that.

I can confirm that changing affiliate to mondadori and restarting kobo triggers the firmware. I had whsmith, tried kobo (no change) tried mondadori, turned off then on and I have it!

I'm suprised how much I miss being able to double-tap to refresh. The workaround I am using now is to select any word to bring up the dictionary and then tapping the close button at the bottom right of the page to trigger the refresh. Not much help if you are not reading text though.

I find the page turns to be much better with no double page turns or backwards page turns so far and no 1/2 screen flashes.

takes quite a while to go from a book back to the home page though or to turn it off.

Found it and tried it - it is nice and heavy, but that's not what I like about Nickel

It's the weird shape of the letters, especially the italics. It just feels right when reading fantasy fiction.

Has anyone with the slow entry to sleep mode tried a factory reset, I've noticed that previous updates don't always go smoothly leaving a glitchy system but a factory reset seems to sort everything out.
