I have been waiting for an e-ink device with a screen that is 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches for all too long. I am hoping that Sony will make this happen in 2014.

One of my kids just opened a discussion about a high end phone for Christmas.

iPhones are not a part of the discussion.

He likes HTC. I tried to steer the conversation to a Nexus 5.

Where oh where is Amazon "all everything, all the time for everybody!"

Pfffft. I got the original iPhone 2G in 2007 for Christmas. The deal was that I was to pay for half of it, and my dad would pay the rest. I had to pay for the plan too. Those were awesome times. Only me and someone else had an iPhone at that point, and I remember when the jailbreak finally came out to the public. That and unlimited EDGE data. Whooo.

I'm waiting for the Nokia Lumia 1320, but I'm more excited the goodies like Scrivener for iOS, and whatever else will be coming out in the next few months.

Having fun with your current devices > Breaking the bank for new ones.

I wish there were some new awesomeness on the horizon..... I've asked Santa for a new iMac. Gonna give my iMac to the spouse, whose current iMac kills a hard drive about every 12-18 months. I'm getting tired of swapping them out.

Get him/her a Nexus 5 and tell them the SIM card is their responsibility
