My favorite mp3 player is the Sandisk Clip Zip. Small, with a screen, and it can clip to your clothes or waist, and has an SD card slot.

I have two of them but they are just mp3 players they don't have android or WiFi so they can't play my Amazon mp3 app that has all my music on the cloud. I use my Zips for audiobooks or audibles.

I am looking for a something that can stream music and is more portable than my SGP5. I have a smartphone but the battery life is need for important stuff seeing I live in the middle of nowhere I need access to my Cell at all times not to mention the sound isn't that great on the Vortex. I want a Droid or LG G2! Have to wait for price to come down and see if I am really want to stay with my wireless provider another two years.

right now I live in the middle of nowhere so there is but one choice for service but if I move that would open up options for a cheaper plan with someone else.

I really like Samsung Galaxy players why did they discontinue them!

Now I understand. And yes you will be hard pressed to find something. Most of the cheap buys on android phones have an older version of android that won't work for the apps you might want. Believe me, I have looked!

I prefer Gingerbread or newer that's what my SGP5 has and apps I use work with it.

I wonder if there is anything else like it out there? Can you guys keep an eye out for me. Thanks. I'm basically wanting it for music like the Amazon music app. My SGP5 is just too big for me to carry around.

I'm also looking for a super cheap tablet and I do mean cheap it just has to be able to run two video apps by Swagbucks that plays videos all day. My SGP5 has been taken over by those apps and I would like it back.

I lot of people use the nextbook 7 from walmart for the swag apps.

I was lucky to pick up a SPG 4.2 in August from Walmart; sorry to hear they are hard to find now. Maybe a cheap prepaid phone would work for you - they don't need a sim card to work.

Blossom-- if you're looking for a portable music player to stream music over WIFI (not cell service), consider any of the pay-as-you-go android phones. I use an never-activated Kyocera Rise from Virgin Mobile, solely as a mini Android tablet with WIFI access. That model is Android 4.0, and my wife uses hers to stream Pandora at work. built in speaker is pretty minimal-- she uses a mini powered speaker to hear it throughout her workplace. The phone is what the tablet geeks call a "plain vanilla" Android build, so generally any app that will run on Android 4.0 on a somewhat slow processor, should work. With WiFi on and data (cell signal) off, she can play music for several 8 hour shifts before needing to recharge.
I got ours for significantly under $50 on sale. Although we've been happy with the Rise, any similar phone should work if I understand your needs. The Rise is kind of heavy, since it has a qwerty slider keyboard. You might find one with better audio quality from the internal speakers if you need to avoid the external speaker and have minimal HiFi expectations (I've never heard any tablet internal speaker that I would consider acceptable for music playback all day long, but I'm kind of picky about that.)

Thanks KentE I really don't want to go a cell phone route unless it would play swagbucks video app I would gladly get whatever cheapest for that but for music I want something nice like my SGP5

I am actually looking at a iPod Touch because it seems to be exactly what I am looking for.

Can someone please educate this Android/PC gal about this device? I see there is Amazon MP3 app but how does their app store work? I will need put iTunes on here?

Do I have to use a Credit Card to download free apps?
What's the difference in 4th and 5th Generations?

When will the 4th Gen become Obsolete. I mean if I say went with a 4th Gen would it still be compatible a few years later or is the 5th better?

No CC needed to dl free apps and for paid apps I use gift cards.

The 4th gen is a couple years old now and is no longer getting OS updates from Apple (iOS 6x was the last), but it works fine. Battery life suck on the 4th gen when doing anything with the screen on. I haven't encountered any apps as of yet that are iOS 7 only (& thus not compatible) and Apple has added a new "feature" to the app store where the last compatible version of apps are available to older OS devices although I don't recall all the details.

You don't need iTunes unless you want to transfer content via USB. For instance the only time I use it is to transfer/convert a WMA audiobook from OverDrive or load a few non-Audible books I own.

I would recommend the cheaper iPod Touch 5th gen without the camera on the back.

The 4th gen is just ancient, and you'll like the new shell they use better. The buttons are easier to use too.

When you use Amazon MP3, you can either stream the music, or you download the songs and it stays within the app and all gets deleted when you delete the app.

I have never used iTunes for syncing an iOS device, only back when you had to use it to do the upgrades.

And yeah, gift cards will work fine.

I replaced my SGP4 with a Nexus 4 and love the improved performance and feature sets.
