So I'm scrolling through my Amazon recommendations looking for some Kobo code inspiration and I happened upon these 2 covers almost right next to each other. Made me laugh. There must be a serious shortage of stock photos for ebook covers.

I was loooking at a few review sites earlier and I swear all of the Entangled covers look the same to me.

There's also a really popular couple outside in the snow who are on 3 or 4 recent Christmas novella covers.

This is Jane Toombs we are talking about. Her books are full of old school romances.

I bought 31 books this week and I will not tell you the prices because I saved a ton of money thanks to our Code Angels.

My suitcase is bursting with books! I hope I didn't drop any. I even bought my first Christmas book for the holiday season.

• Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich.

I read more of Revealing Us. I am on Chapter Nine. I plan to get more reading in this week as I have to once again reconvert my books now that I know how to make the cover show. I got 6 done out of 34

I read the following romance-related stuff recently:

The Duchess War by Courtney Milan - 4 stars (my first full-length novel of hers and I really liked this one!)

Between Friends by Sandra Kitt - 4 stars (I felt the romance was secondary compared to the issues of race and identity that were raised.)

A Kiss for Midwinter by Courtney Milan - 3.5 stars (A nice novella. I liked the hero a lot.)

Because You are Mine by Lena Hart - 3 stars (Novella; OK but needs editing.)

Because You Love Me - 1 star (Novella; bad, and needs a lot of editing.)

Spoiler:

Hero is jealous, possessive and rage-y; at one point he's so mad he pushes heroine and her head hits the wall. He gets on like a butt throughout and heroine gives him a pass in the end because of some sob story about his terrible childhood with his abusive father. Please. Just no.

OK, now I can go read (pet my new purchases )

Does Kobo let you know if you bought the book already like Amazon does?

I bought very little in the way of ebooks this last week. Connie Brockway's No Place For a Dame and Jennifer Ashley's The Wicked Deeds of Daniel Mackenzie.

I recently found out that any California resident can get a library card from the Los Angeles Public Library system if they show up in person to pick the card up. I live a couple of hours away, so when I last had to go to L.A. I stopped in and picked up a card. Their Black Gold Digital Library is huge and I've been mining their titles for things to read and listen to. Further, if you check out a Kindle book, there are many titles that are Whispersync'd and you can pick the audio version for a great deal. You don't even need to buy the book, just borrow it, and you can get the Whispersync deal!

Through this program so far I've bought and listened to a couple of Lisa Kleypas historicals and the Stacia Kane Downside series. All were excellent, no need to say anything about Lisa Kleypas and I love the Downside series. I've spent about $15 over the last two weeks, for 5 audiobooks.

Here's mine - 33 new books. I also bought a few more to replace paper copies but I don't count those. I was on track to only have a total of 6 this week (4 new releases and 2 bargains) and then . . . well . . .

6 more new releases to go on Tuesday then hopefully a big lull.

I had a small epiphany when faced with the opportunity to replace many of my paper books cheaply this weekend. I thought "OK, if you replace these ones are you ever going to actually re-read them?" Answer was "not terribly likely and if I do decide to re-read 1 or 2 of them then I can just buy them again as digital. Right!" So a few dozen paper books when into the Goodwill box. Yay me!

I didn't read any romances this week.
