After a full recharge, 10 hours in sleep mode and no battery drain at all. From this time CoolReader is the everyday reader on my Kobo. Thanks, Sergey!

I did a similar test. After a full charge and 12 hours in sleep mode I lost about 11% of battery life.

I repeated the test from within nickel and after 4,5 hours the battery is still at 100%.

Same book, same font on both tests.

IIRC there was a bug, which only occurs when the screen had been touched directly after putting the device to sleep. Then the battery was drained, as if the device was still active. Is it possible, that this also occurs, when suspending the device from CoolReader? I remember having touched the screen to put the device into the cover.

From your post and your email I'understood:

Yes, It seems that your device was not sleeping. I'll add the extended log info on Monday:
1. Battery level before suspend
2. Battery level after resume
3. Battery level after each page turn

And we will find out where the charge gone

I really appreciate your hard work.

Some additional info here, overnight I also lost about 8% from within nickel, so maybe the battery itself is to blame, not CoolReader. The Aura HD is a brandnew device with only a few charge cycles.

I will investigate this further with your extended log.

I always lost 4% in about 22 hours when setting the reader to sleep from the KePub reader, about 2% when powered off out of it.

Now I've powered off my Aura HD each night from 17 October to 20 October and am still on 100% - I even played a few games of Checkers and only read with the light turned on.

And I lost lots of energy using the 1.2.6.7 version.

So this version seems to work extremely well for me.

My biggest wish is working touch zones (I've been wanting that since I got my first Kobo in 2011). I'm already very happy with the coolreader and games and touch zones would make it perfect for me. Thank you so much.

Caution!! It appears that installing 1.2.6.10 breaks the Koreader launch image's fmon connection. If your Koreader launch just shows you the image, instead of launching the program, you may have to redo the Koreader build's KoboRoot.tgz application.

Edit: I had to go back to 1.2.6.7 to get it all working together again.

Luck;
Ken

Ken, koreader and coolreader have no common files. I can't spoil koreader - related files.

The problem is in the launching, and Koreader is using fmon to launch. I can try 1.2.6.10 again. Maybe if I extracted the 1.2.6.10 folders from the .tgz and just overwrite those not involved in the launch process?

luck;

Yes, you can just overwrite KoboLauncher directory.

EDIT:

Sorry, I've forgotten the "&" at the and of "launcher.sh". It doesn't allow to start koreader.sh.

OK, I installed the 1.2.6.10 build normally (using the .tgz file) and then fixed the Launcher.sh in fmon. Then tried Koreader and no go. Then did a power off and restarted and now it works.

But it doesn't have the settings options I remember for 1.2.6.10
So.. I'll try again. Still the same, is there a way to see what version of the launcher is installed?

Luck;
Ken

I think it is 1.2.6.10, when I have a book open I see the new options, I guess they were the ones I was thinking of. Still having the version somewhere would help.

1.2.6.11

New build 1.2.6.11

The main improvement is the extended logging information for problems diagnostic (suspend problems, quick battery drain etc).

Now to use it:
1. Set date and time correctly on your reader
2. Set log level = 2 in the Kobo Launcher Settings tab
3. Reproduce your problem
4. Send me the problem description, launcher.log.txt file and date/time when problem happened

!!!! IMPORTANT !!!!
YOU SHOULD NOT KEEP LOG LEVEL=2 CONSTANTLY BECAUSE THE SIZE OF launcher.log.txt FILE CAN BECAME BIG. OR YOU SHOULD REMOVE THIS FILE SOMETIMES

Besides:
1. German localization (thanks, trekk!)
2. Partial update - new options added: 20, 30, 50, 100, 0(always)
3. Now the pictures in the screen saver are not repeated until the full cycle
4. Problem that prevents koreader running (fmon/launcher.sh fixed)

Yes. 2 Options:

1. Copy your fonts to KoboLauncher/cr3/fonts
2. OR Today I'll add kobo fonts support (use fonts from /mnt/onboard/fonts)
