2.9.x for Aura HD -- Any ETA? - Page 3

I have been using 2.9.0 for more than a week now and it's making the Aura HD enjoyable for me (at last). So really it's a pity it is not officially available for everyone.

And I don't like the marketing aspect under its not being released, I must say. The Aura HD buyers are the premium buyers at Kobo, and they have been paying a premium price not long ago for the Aura HD, so they should not be driven into getting the Aura. not nice.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist and like I said I haven't had much time to use it yet. But then again, I'm one of those people who just read and I never notice any problems the firmware anyways.

Same here. Firmware 2.8.1. works fine for me. Will upgrade to 2.9 for Pocket, but it is no big deal if I have to wait a little longer.

How well does 2.9 handle margins? I'm using kobo patcher now and it does an excellent job of eliminating wasted header and footer space. If I switch to 2.9 I will not be able to install patcher.

I haven't noticed any difference from 2.81.

OK, I'll stay on 2.8.1 for a while yet then. With Metazoa's patch, it works fine for me (as far as reading is concerned).

Anyone tried 2.9 with Calibre yet, especially with regards to the 'dropping off the USB bus'-problem some HDs (including mine) have? If that's fixed, I might be tempted (although it seems a bit more stable lately)

Is 2.90 compatible with the Glo? So far everyone who has sideloaded it has done so with an Aura HD I believe. Be careful of bricking your reader.

I have had 2.9.0 on my Glo with no problems. Well, none other than the bugs that have been reported here.

I'm kind of curious: has anyone tried 2.9.0 on one of the original Touches? I have one lying around gathering dust, but at the same time, I'm not super keen on bricking it.

Again, as part of the beta, I have had 2.9.0 on my N905 Touch. Worked perfectly. But, Pocket wasn't enabled for 2.9.0 when run on a Touch or Mini.

Its a screen its meant to be full, but more importantly the why is 9 tiles all equal size is more pleasing to view then the odd ball sized crap you get currently.
