I do read in bed sometimes before going to sleep. Depends on how tired I feel. It does help me get to sleep sometimes. I do read in the family room on the couch. I also have a book on the go on my phone since I have that with me. I read on public transport. I recently read on a cruise ship. I read in the local park if the weather is good enough. I read in the bathroom (sometimes). I read in a doctor's waiting room.

Home/bus/train/library Those are my places in the order of frequency I read in them. I don't get people who read in coffee shops. Don't ask me why, but I'd rather have a cup of coffee with a friend in that coffee shop, than stare at the book. |

What a peculiar way of seeing things. What if I'm in town alone and fancy a coffee? Should I just forego my double espresso just because I'm alone there and then? How about people who have no friends? Are they to be allowed to read in coffee shops, ever, or only at home, all on their own? |

If the weather's pleasant, I like to read on the outdoor setting in my yard. My cat is a frequent companion when I do so, as she's old and doesn't like leaving the house unless I'm with her any more. Other than that, I'll read on the couch or in bed. When I lived in the big smoke, I'd read on my hour-long commute either side of work. Really, I'll read wherever I'm able, but the outdoor setting is my favourite place. As for when I normally read? Why, whenever the mood strikes.

At mealtimes (I live alone), waiting for appointments, evenings, any spare moment. I once refused a proposal for fear marriage would interfere with my reading time. Now that I think of it, I did him a great kindness.

I read before bed. Apparently that's a bad idea as it stimulates the mind - however I find it helps my work brain switch off so it works for me. In addition, any spare time I get - also whilst cooking - which could explain why I'm such a poor cook that my kids once hid my recipe book in the hope of making me get a takeaway. |

But if you are alone, reading is just fine in the shop you get your drink/snack from.

I basically read everytime I have more than 3 minutes available Of course I like to read at home in bed in the evening for example, but I also read a lot during the day, because I have a type of job where I have 10-15 munute breaks every 1-2 hours. So use all of those breaks for reading! I also read in typical situations where you have to wait - doctor's office, sometimes my bank if I go at an unfortunate hour and have to wait etc. And I looove reading outside when I go to my summer to relax So really, whenever I don't have anything else to do, I read, read and read!!! |

I read in the car while my husband drives. We also take our tablets with us when we go out to breakfast which prompted a couple to tell us when they see us, they call us The Kindles.
