No, it is probably faster using the line selection mechanism. Unfortunately when I saw a Kindle and asked the person owning it to lookup all words on a line he said he did not know how to do that so I do not know how long time it takes.

My point was that for me the lack of in book lookup on the Beebook is not an issue since looking up words on my n810 is faster then the Cybook implementation.

Yep...all you do is roll up the little LCD cursor to the line the word is on and "click it"... Then roll the cursor to Lookup and click it again. Then every word in the line is listed/defined. You can select on there to if you need to drill in more to see the full definitions, type of speech, etc.

You won't get good conversions from complex PDF documents. There's just no good way to read PDF files formatted for an A4/Letter page on a screen with 1/6th the area. PDF was never intended to be an eBook format, and it's generally a mistake to try to pretend that it is one.
Then thats a real shame because most informational type documents are all PDF. I don't read fiction at all. An A4 piece of paper is 11 inches by 8 inches, the ebook reader is 7 inches by what 4 inches? thats not 1/6th the size?

Anyway I sold it now, very disappointed, perhaps I'll just have to wait until the technology improves somewhat.

A4 is 297 x 210 mm

The BeBook has a screen size of 120 x 90 mm

The area of the A4 sheet is, therefore, 5.8x the area of the BeBook's screen.

This news of Mobi support sounds great! I'm a little new with using Mobi and have been busy converting my PDFs to Mobi (pretty good results so far). I've also been trying to organize my files well within Mobipocket reader, edit author/title correctly, make reader lists, etc. Will the BeBook have my mobi files organized exactly as in Mobipocket reader, correctly labeled with reading lists, or will the files, themselves, be listed as they are in my ebooks folder on my computer?

Thanks,

Doug

P.S. as always, feel free to use "sirdouglas@hotmail.com" to save 25 euros on the BeBook from www.mybebook.com. I don't have the financial capacity to purchase at full price at the moment, but I'm desperate for the thing!
