It's just that I remember it being advertised as preorder, with price guarantee. So it came out and the price was around $23, for a few days. Then it dropped significantly to $16. Anyone who preordered it is probably feeling ripped off too.

Ah yes, pre-orders.

I now skip them if over $10, as they almost always drop on release day (but not before), especially at places other than Amazon.

Generally, it is the Publisher that does that price fiddling. I don't buy preorders either because of this.

This is why I never pre-order anything that is digital. There's absolutely no incentive to do so. Anyways, you've learned your lesson and you'll be wiser in the future!

I moved physical books 1 and 2 of a series up to the top of my stack, so I can see if I want to pick up the rest. Otherwise, I'm in much the same boat. I'm glad I loaded up on backlist stuff in September!

Kobo needs to do coupon codes like that more often. I've easily spent maybe twice as much as I would have without the code, just because I got more for it.

I bought my last 50% off book today. The September code was good for all publishers and in 5 or 6 weeks I cleaned out my Amazon wish list and bought many more besides. I'm set for a year...or maybe just a few months at the rate I'm reading. Kobo certainly got the business of the voracious reading, bargain hunting crowd.

As my location is set to Mexico they are not restricted. Granted I cannot buy certain books as they are not available and stuff and prices can vary (both higher and lower) but with 50% discount codes I'm not complaining. Especially since if prices are lower elsewhere or availability is limited I can look into ordering from other places. Though I'll admit I only register locations to which I have a right to do so. Mostly because then I actually know the details. If I wanted to fake my localee it would mean looking for postal codes and whatnot.

Ended up buying like 25 books...
