Could it be that these pages contain graphics? I have noticed that whenever a page does, there will be a screen refresh upon opening and leaving that page. For example, the Kindle's User Guide includes a small magnifying glass at Loc 296 - that's when I get always a refresh, but not on the previous pages.

I just tested that location and did NOT get a page refresh. I have refreshes turned off.

I've noticed a couple of things about my PW2 while reading today.

Discovery 1: My reading area during the day has a recessed ceiling light. It is a spot light type fixture but I use a fluorescent bulb in it. It is behind me while I'm reading. Today I noticed that the faint blue line across the top of my screen was actually a shadow from this light. I first noticed a faint blue line on the right side of the screen and then quickly noticed it was a shadow. After that it didn't take long to realize the line across the top is also a shadow from this light. There is some light leakage from around the screen though, the most prominent of which is a 1/2" long leak on the right bottom.

Discovery 2: When I move to my evening reading area that has no recessed ceiling light, only a table lamp with shade, my screen is no longer tinted a faint blue. The screen is actually a pale cream color much like the vanilla ice cream I just ate. So I went into the daytime reading area and tried looking at the screen with the recessed ceiling light on and then off. ON equals faint blue tint on screen, OFF means cream colored screen. Either way the screen is dingy in the middle, but light cream color looks much better than faint blue tint.

High and low temperature can cause more/slower refreshs as well. I was just reading in a place where it's about 50ºF/10ºC and page turns seemed a little sluggish. I stuck the PW2 under my shirt and kept it there for about five minutes and it's much faster now.

Small disappointment upon receipt of my PW2.

75% of my screen is yellowed near the bottom, it's a shame I'm going to return it.
I had this once worries with a Kobo.

However the non-affected Party is very beautiful and nice to my Kobo will be HD quality.

I think this should be a concern of a of to light or touch layer which must make this yellow layer that washes out the characters. The bonding between the parties?

However I find it very functional, and I will continue to trust Kindle, because I'm a fan of their kK4B with the PW1 we have family.

I understood the system which is that there are virtually no black flash, cleaning this fact every time but only around the letters, which gives this fatty aspect at a time.

I had zero vanishing point.

If I am going to order another PW2 instead?

Yes, because the screen part unaffected by the small default is superb.

But I have to be at a computer to do that. The thing I like about using the browser on the device itself is I only need the device and a wifi connection.

You do need a secondary device like a smartphone or tablet to email the book or be at your computer depending on the method. I have my phone with me always so it's just so much easier to email the book from my phone with the Dropbox app or at my PC to use Send to Kindle.

Also you don't need Dropbox to use it you could use Box.net app or Copy app and of course Good Drive app.

Just a personal anecdote: These kind of issues are mostly why I use always-on refresh. Ghosting bothers me, but what bothers me even more is the inconsistency of the screen sometimes flashing and other times not. On the first Kindle 4, before always-on option came in an update, it drove me crazy that sometimes the update was partial and other times full. Even if it happened consistently every 6 pages, it still felt inconsistent when immersed in a book and the immersion was lost a little with the flash.

This is why I like always-on refresh flash better than "sometimes" on.

Kindle PW1 (right) vs. Kindle PW2 left three. Seems there are different yellow tones of the light.

Blossom I use Dropbox but I can't find a way to email directly from the app using my iPhone, it says it can only be opened in the Kindle app, I use MOBI. I have to download it into another app called Documents first, and email it from that app to my Kindle.

How do you do it please?

Thanks for the picture! Luckily the PW2 here does seem like an improvement over PW1, as many others have reported too.

Still, there is variance and unevenness in the PW2 - plus of course the more yellow tint, which some may prefer or not prefer.

I have Android. I just long press on the book and choose export and pick Gmail and it auto attaches the file to a email then I click send.

Does the iPhone version have a export option? Look for that then choose whatever email app it uses to email the book.

I just tried this for the first time, before I saw Blossom's latest reply. It's important you choose "export" because if you choose "Share" and then "email" like I did the first time then it sends an email with a URL linking to the dropbox folder. I also had a "Send to Kindle" under export but when I tried it it didn't work. I think that's there because I've got Kindle app on my phone.

Also using Android.

I can't do anything with iOS, it only gives me the option to email a link or open the mobi file into the Kindle app. I can't email the mobi file at all from Dropbox.

My android device is wifi only so not much use when out and about.
