When I start reading I can really zone out the rest of the world for hrs at a time, and I do that often with my Kindle Paperwhite. When I was a kid in high school I'd have to remember to look up every now and then to make sure the bell signaling the end of study hall hadn't rung without my hearing it. Ebooks haven't changed that much. |

I'd probably just want to know where he was able to find ammo for it.

If someone had a gun to my head forcing me to choose between those two ereaders I'd probably spend a good portion of that minute trying to fathom why anyone would hold a gun to my head to force me to choose an ereader. Most motivations I get, but this... I'd spend at least a couple seconds taking the gun away, and the rest of the time debating the temptation/fairness of pistol whipping someone so obviously disturbed... I do not like guns or knives pointed at any portion of my anatomy. I'm even less fond of ICBMs, but what can one do? That said, I'd take a Kobo, with an undamaged diffraction/diffuser layer, and a flat back, so make mine a Glo. I'd use it to read while waiting for the police. |

It's just a typical awkward geek who doesn't know how to express the question in socially acceptable terms.

If people are seriously offended by an innocent "what if", one is hard pressed to wonder how put out they might be should such a thing happen... The problem with being socially acceptable is that there is no hard and fast line in the sand and social norms change at the whim of those squealing the loudest at any particular moment rather than those who are prepared to deal with reality. Frankly, if you aren't annoying someone you're probably accomplishing nothing in this life. |

I already have an "old" Paperwhite (which I enjoy very much), so I'd pick the Aura HD - the KPW2 doesn't seem different enough from KPW1 to warrant an upgrade, while the Aura HD offers things the Kindle doesn't have, size not being the least among them.

KPW2 All of my e-readers have been Kindles so it woul dmake life easier. I enjoyed reading on my DXG but that is with a friend in Afghanistan. I am loving reading with the 6 inch PW2. The light is great and it is insanely easy to hold and use. I can't see myself reading on a bigger screen again. |

Sony PRS650 I bet he won't shoot anyway... I really dislike the fact that neither readers have a hardware paging button. |
