Well, presumably, but others have tried logging in and have gotten a reset message despite not having gotten the initial email from Adobe.

I also gave some tips on keeping yourself safe in the thread. Just basic things every internet user should know but I know not everyone does. |

Everyone does online banking these days, and everyone I know who does, is also constantly complaining about how many different passwords and keys and verifications their bank requires every time they try to log in. Everyone except those of us who know how easy it is to steal an identity, that is. ![]() I wrote this a few years ago. While old and geared towards PC gaming, it still applies in full, to any form of online account out there. |

![]() The truth is the Security questions needs to go away. Period. It's too much a vulnerability. Two step verification is the better way to go. In the past month I have seen several people hacked due to their security question. Thanks to social media sites it's so easy to figure out the answers to them. What good is a strong password if they can answer your security question to get access to your account? Then you have problems like Adobe where hackers just by passed it everything so you have to different profiles for every site. ![]() Don't use the same email for everything. Keep your Amazon, Paypal and Bank accounts away from the other sites you shop on. Don't use that email for anything else online. I do mine it by priority. I have email for Bills, Bank and Personal stuff I have email for Amazon I have a email for Shopping sites I have a email for Facebook I have a email for book related stuff. I have a spam email for junk sites You get the idea. ![]() |

I think it's best just to make up an answer unrelated to the question for best possible security if you have use that feature. Google did away with it because they realize it was how people were hacking in. I hope other sites follow. |

And I have googled myself, and if my own google results are typical, then there may be some exaggerated paranoia out there. Yes, my paternal grandfather's middle name can be discovered via google. But it takes time, and considerable effort... and only someone with a serious personal grudge would be willing to spend either. The secret to not having your identity stolen in today's internet-world: Make sure it requires actual effort to do it, and they WILL move on to an easier target. ![]() |

I'm only on page 90, but keep setting it down and picking up (and finishing) others. lol Ah well, I'll chip away at it... mostly it's the writing style I'm just not enjoying. And now that I can't coupon the next two books I'm in no rush anyway!

Hmmm, well, I would say that if you're not hooked after chapter 7, then, well, maybe it's just not for you. I hate trying to decide if I'm into a book or not, and I usually try to give it a good go but sometimes it just doesn't work. I still would love to know what you think of it if you make it past that.
