I don't think so. Demanding reader or not, it seems obvious that there are multiple dimensions to "better" or "worse." Whether the poll covers too many is of course a valid question.

I could have answered your poll LOL. The one here is way too complicated for me to bother with.

Here are a couple opinions that found an improved frontlight, a faster devices, but no real improvement to the screen.

Good point. I forgot about the light bleeds on the PW1. I tried to remember all the screen issues and cover them in the survey, but I'm sure there are others I left off too.

A matter of priorities
Quote:
They already have their enjoyment from the PW 2013. Their next project will be to prove the KFHDX coming on Oct 18 has scores of other cosmetic problems. They will have a great time doing the same and posting all their findings here. Some of us just want to READ eBooks with the best eReaders on the planet where even the elderly can now read whereas before they had to stop reading at much younger ages or undergo expensive operations and buy expensive glasses. We all have our own preferences in this regard and spend our time and money in the way we want. Thank goodness Amazon doesn't waste their QA budget on this or the Kindles would be way overpriced as are all the iPads today. Last edited by sirmaru; 10-05-2013 at 12:16 PM. |

Where is the Yellow Screen question? I see "With light level high, my PW2 screen is whiter/creamier/lighter than my PW1 screen" but I can't answer that. If it said "creamier/darker than my PW1" then I could. But not whiter. Of course you do give us the "Greyer/Darker" option.
Sigh. So many questions. I wish I had held onto my PW1. |

Absolutely. I like to keep it simple so in my world, you're either satisfied with your PW or you aren't (in which case you can always buy a different ereader). I just can't understand the reason to obsess over every single possible difference between PW1/PW2 and compare every single dot.

This poll looks headache-inducing. I still have both and will only say the PW2 from my perspective is a vast improvement over my PW1. Making the decision of whether or not to purchase or upgrade really shouldn't be so arduous. We're talking about a kindle, not a car. It's not that serious.

There are so many questions because saying I like this one better than that one makes no sense to anyone but you. It leaves us with this thought:
