What a day! Just today, I've talked to over half a dozen people about E-book and E-book readers, and in most cases ended up writing down more then a few web addresses but the main one for each MobileRead.com It was fun talking to people, most who had not seen a reader in the flesh before, others who had seen the sony but did not know about others. Another who collects Star Wars books, and was quiet interested in e-books in general and getting a hold of books published in America first It did bring up a curious point that I'm usually writing down half a dozen web addresses on any piece of paper handy. The sites I usually jolt down are www.mobileread.com wiki.mobileread.com www.fictionwise.com www.booksonboard.com www.mobipocket.com If looking to buy some of the others, for the Sony just head to the local Waterstones For the Gen 3 lately www.whsmith.co.uk usually www.bookeen.com I Figure I should print out a few cards on sheet of card stock, with all these addresses on it. Anyone got any more suggestions on sites I could / should include. ps. And I just realised why I've been trying to avoid going into bookstores lately. My willpower goes out of the window when I go into one. I'd just popped into Waterstones to have look at the 505 in person only, I ended up walking out with a book, I KNEW was £4 cheaper on Amazon but I wanted it now dangit . |

The 3 primary addresses that I give out are MobileRead, Feedbooks, and ManyBooks. If someone comes to MobileRead, they're going to find references to most of the other sites. If someone tells me that they're gung-ho for SF and Fantasy, I throw in Baen/Webscriptions.

I completely forgot about Baen, Manybooks and Feedbooks. BlackMask, while being aware of it, I've never used, so I better check it out I Hesitate a bit with sending people straight off to Project Gutenberg as the formatting on many is horrible. I prefer to refer them to the e-book section here and if they can't find it here then check out Project Gutenberg.

You might want to add wiki.mobileread.com since some can't find it easily or don't know its there.

The small view looks pretty good. I tried clicking on each of the images to view them larger & got an error message reading: The image “https://www.mobileread.com/forums/att...&d=1223067091” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. Dunno what's wrong. Could be getting corrupted in transmission between there & here. Or could be something with Firefox -- it can be very picky at times. Nope -- I get the broken-image icon when I try to view with IE. |

it does launch in the (think) java scrip interface so if you have scripts, etc off it may be interfering.

Very nice! I had to check your location, when I saw the Kindle wasn't included. For handing out in the USA, I'd want to include the Kindle on the card too.

I would move BEAN from the free & Public Domain section. While yes they are free. It gives the impression that they might be public domain.
