Been using version 7 all along by the way.

Did as you said DNSB and with these changes now Kpg.exe refuses to create the tgz file that one adds to the kobo memory. Here is a copy/paste of my modified lines so we are sure to talk about the same thing ...

Disable footer example#replace_zlib = 1205FF4,

Decrease footer examplereplace_zlib = 1205FF4

And here is the line with the font size stuff, I took the liberty to copy/paste the unrelated text that follows immediately so you can tell me that I'm at the right place in the text:

{\n\theight: 18px;\n\tfont-size: 14px;\n}\n\n`
</Patch><Patch>patch_name = `My line spacing values` patch_enable = `no`

Ok nevermind my previous post. For some odd reason there was a blank space between # and the words right before and after but they were not showing. I only saw them when deleting the space, thinking I was deleting the # (then I had to delete twice to get to the #, thus I knew there was a hidden blank space)
Now it did create the .tgz file ...

EDIT: It worked but I am back to square zero.
The huge wasted space issue at the bottom to begin with is back in its full glory.
I'll try changing the 60 60 10 values to see if it fixes the problem...

But not tonight. I'm not feeling too well, I seriously need to lay down.

I changed the values at my end to 18 and 14 and ran the patch generator. I've uploaded the resulting KoboRoot.tgz file with this message. I had to rename it to .tgz.zip to get it to upload so rename it to remove the .zip from the end of the file name before copying it to your ereader in the .kobo directory.

I just deleted the first "replace" after making a backup of the conf file. I didn't have any luck with the hashtag.

If deleting the first replace you must comment out the second, meaning you need to move the # to the second replace.

Wouldn't that be if deleting the first replace, you still need to uncomment the second, meaning that you would remove the # from the second replace?

Otherwise, one is removed, the other is commented out and work it will not.

Yup, sorry read it wrong...

It appears my device shows this software version, the figures between the brackets are not the same as yours so I think it would be wise for me not to use the file you generated.

Also I have tried different values to replace the 60 60 10 figures and it changed absolutely nothing, at least I did not see any change. I wonder why they have a patch with changeable values if they don't change anything in the display of the text?
I'm at a loss as to what to do so if there is no other solution I will simply go back to the original change where I had a full screen text with no "page x of y" at the bottom, at least with that, the wasted space issue is no more.

Thanks for your help and let us hope some future version of this patch will fix this.

You said that you have been using v07 of the Patcher, but you also said that you used footer values of 60 60 10. This sounds more like the footer changes used in v05/v06 of the Patcher not v07

Why don't you attach here your edited version of kpg.conf, then we can see if there are any obvious problems with it.

That is correct, since I've only heard about this patch thing for the past couple days, when I got here to check what this patch was all about, v5, v6 and v7 were available at the first post of this thread. So I decided to try V7 from the start THEN as I went on reading the posts, values 60 60 10 were mentioned many times so once I understood a little about how to use the patch, I worked with 60 60 10 on v7 as I read nowhere that 60 60 10 was meant for a specific version (was it ?)
In any case, those values don't change anything as far as I can tell. Now I work on 40 40 5 but the looks are the same.
Also I only put "yes" on the first patch and on the patch about the paragraph bug thing which are the two that I care about (the other patches about font control, margin control etc ... are not an issue for me so I put "no" to those.
I guess that is all so knowing this, do you still want to see my kpg.conf ?
And again if 60 60 10 was not meant for v7 then what are the values meant for v7 on the Glo ?

v07 moved to hacking values for height and font-size.
v05/v06 hacked values for min-height, max-height and qproperty-footerMargin e.g. 60 60 10

You can use those values if you have successfully combined v07 with v05 or v06. Perhaps you did this after reading the whole thread? If so, seeing your kpg.conf would just let us check that it looks OK.

Combined ? Ok now I am totally confused, how do you "combine" two different versions of a same patch? ok let me add my conf file in an edit of this post...

Note that I added "zip" so that it can be uploaded, just remove that extension.
Also as I said I went back to "full screen with no page x of y" at the bottom so this config is with that in mind.

I see a few problems and will explain later if you like, but in the meantime try this one instead. Rename attachment to kpg.conf first.
