I guess I'm scared they'll take away my legit books if I'm caught doing it. Like they have on Amazon for some people. I've already got a US iTunes account but I rarely use it. It's really much easier not to try to get around these sorts of blocks, but it sucks that they exist. It would be better if everything was centralised and we all had equal access. I get that there are separate rules for publishers for each country, but I wish there wasn't. Just like the tv issue, people know about new releases and want access to them at the same time as everyone else, for the same price.

I use my Kobo account in any country where the price takes my whimsy.

Remember, our gov't is in favour of unblocking geo restricitions

I've just tried it, changed my details to US (a friend's address) and it worked. I got a book for about half the price as here. But I feel guilty, so I'll probably change it back.

i just keep all my Aus details, but change the post code to the US one that auto pops up.

That applies for every country that I 'visit' - I keep my real details but change the town and postcode where required.

My credit card details are mine (of course).

I did similar to get two Star Trek SCE collections (they were $23 & $21 here; they were less than half that in the UK) only difference, I took a short trip from the US to the UK, and like you used a friend's address. I also got a case of the guilts afterward and probably won't do it again; I changed my address right back.

Actually, I'm using that as my justification NOT to go completely nuts by the end of the month... My paycheck got deposited yesterday and I purchased one book, Gloriana by Michael Moorcock, with a 65% code angel coupon and used the 50% off all four books of Moorcock's first Hawkmoon series (the second series is not yet available). I was going to purchase a classic series Doctor Who book at Sony using their 40% off coupon since Sony's normal price on this series has been cheaper than Kobo and with a 40% off coupon will be cheaper than Kobo with a 50% off... Then I discovered that Sony doesn't have the last 3 books I'm missing, so I picked up that one at Kobo. 6 books from Kobo and if I can find one more on my wish list that will be cheaper at Sony, one more from them. I may also pick up a bundle from Baen, but I will probably hold off on additional purchases until my October 15 paycheck and use the other 50% off coupon... Probably... I have several more series that are calling me to come buy them at 50% off...
