"The highlight is a six-inch touchscreen display that lets you swipe your finger back and forth to turn pages. It’s a much more natural motion that reaching for buttons and far more intuitive than Amazon’s somewhat awkward Kindle design."
Hmmm....well, I'd have to say that's a bit of a letdown, after seeing the performance of Plastic Logic's touchscreen device. I guess Sony could have improved it a bit, but I don't think I'll be trading in my 505 anytime soon. |

Huh... I hope it has hard buttons to turn the page too.

Crap , I am not going to buy this, "touchscreen" is a good idea but NO BUTTONS !!!!???
It will be getting dirty and scratched very soon , plus it's much easier to turn pages with buttons even if it's more "natural" ![]() Hope at least it will kill 505 prices and I will be able to upgrade from my PRS-500 for $100 ![]() |

Looks nice, looks interesting but the timing is very strange with the rollout across Europe at the moment...
I have just bought the 505 here in the UK on day 1 release - in less than 1 month it is completely out done... Mind you love my 505 to bits but this looks even nicer! Maybe I should buy that for me and pass the 505 to my wife who has been coveting my 505? The European partners - Waterstones, FNAC etc are going to be well peeved about this |

Buttons
It seems like the chrome buttons at the bottom are soft keys. The device looks nice, but the whole touchscreen thing isn't that appealing to me. The front-light is also another feature that is up in the air, mainly due to the impact on battery life.

If you open the attachment in the front-page post, you can enlarge it all the way and see the buttons pretty clearly ....
