K4 Mac or PC Where are my files?

I have several books from Amazon Kindle and read them on my PC using the Kindle App.

I would like to know where I can find these file so I can 1) side-load them into my tablet and 2) convert them to another format.

I cannot find these anywhere and any help will be greatly appreciated.

In the Win 8 app the books appear to be stored in some in app database or something (that was the speculation anyway). Last I heard no one had found an actual location for them.

In the regular Kindle for PC (which works on Win 8) they're stored in Documents in a folder called My Kindle Content.

EDIT: A bit more info. I just saw a post on Amazon that mentions files are stored at...

...but, they're stored in multiple fragments not like they're stored in the regular Windows for PC.

Is that Windows 8 putting them there or the Kindle for PC Windows 8 version? That really bites if that is where they are.
