So the gist I am getting so far is that it is nice to hold light is pretty consistent across screen page turns are good some light leaks on most units, (have to look at point of purchase) if you hold it outside in the sun at an angle that you will never read it at, you can see little diamonds |

Coming from an early Sony and then three Kindles, including the PW most recently, so far I am loving all the stuff I'd read about - the smaller size, adjustable fonts and margins without hacking, the cover coming up on sleep screen, faster page turns and being able to switch the light off. The screen is better for being lipless and just as matt and sharp as on the Kindle. I haven't tried pdfs yet but have hopes for being able to read them easily on an e-reader at last. And despite the smaller size it still fits my much-loved Verso PW case, with only the top-right elastic covering the light switch. And as to the light-pricks. It seems statistically puzzling that one person hasn't been able to find one non-faulty unit, despite going through so many; and that the few people who have detected them have all only been on this board a few weeks. No long-standing members seem to have had a problem. Hmmm. Anyway, putting suspicion and cynicism aside - this is shaping up as the best e-reader I've ever had, and I can't see what would make one better. |

It is very nice. Lights work well for reading in the darkness. Holds pretty comfortably as well. I like it a lot if the following had not happened. I don't know if this is a hardware or software issue. I downloaded my books through Adobe Digital editions and when I read a book and put it to sleep it always reverts to the same first book I opened initially, even though I have read 10 pages of a newer book. Not sure why this is happening and it is a little bit frustrating. Spoke with customer service 3 times already Who told me to reset and then re-sign him and then reinitialize all of which I have done and I'm still left with the same problem except now half the books I had put the collection that I had created are no longer there. Would all this be a software issue or do I just need to go and exchange this for a new one as it might be hardware problem any ideas thanks a lot everyone. Must admit I have never had such a hard time with the new product in my life I am pretty good with devices I buy during the first weeks out and I've never had to be calling customer service and even thinking about returning it unless I just don't like it.... Never because it doesn't work. was this not ready? |

Just, on a positive note, no lite pricks or any light leakage from bezel really that noticed. If there are some I would had to look really hard for them and as I said if it weren't for my prior issues I would be very very happy with this reader

Thanks all. The reset seems to have solved the freezing issue. What is curious is the light leaks seem to have gone?? I had 3 last night, all near the edge of the screen so not an issue really. This morning I could only see one and right now I cannot see any. Overall impressions a few hours in is that whilst I think it feels a little cheaper than the Kindle PW I do really like the smaller footprint and interface. I think it may be a keeper. |

They've invented the world's first self-healing light guide! Take that, Carta.

Well since I canceled my order from Whsmiths and bought 2 bad Aura's in store and returned them both, Wouldn't you just know it the one that I ordered online and canceled turned up today Looks like 3rd times a charm, This one has an ever so small pin prick light leakage in the top right that is only really visible on a black screen with the light turned up at full whack so going to hold on to this one Now to get a nice 3rd party sleep case for it off flebay. | |
