Finished listening to cold days and really enjoyed it. I wouldn't say it was the best book in the series but entertaining nonetheless. What I liked the most was possibility of new villains and the direction that character of molly has taken. Now my wait for skin game begins

Everyone is down on pain, because they forget something important about it: Pain is for the living. Only the dead don't feel it.

Pain is a part of life. Sometimes it's a big part, and sometimes it isn't, but either way, it's a part of the big puzzle, the deep music, the great game. Pain does two things: It teaches you, tells you that you're alive. Then it passes away and leaves you changed. It leaves you wiser, sometimes. Sometimes it leaves you stronger. Either way, pain leaves its mark, and everything important that will ever happen to you in life is going to involve it in one degree or another.”

Although personally I'm not a fan of Elminster -- he cheated his way, unlike people like Larloch, Szass Tam, and Gromph Baenre who aren't Chosen like him.

How is Pug there, when the whole series is basically a rotting corpse as of the last 3 books? I think Mustrum Ridcully or Rincewind deserves the space much more.

I just watched the video titled 'Jim Butcher Q&A Panel' (it's the one that shows on jim-butcher.com and is also somewhere on each of the alternate feeds). It was an interesting Q&A session. The one I watched part of this morning (and couldn't make heads-nor-tails of) was called 'Starship Valkyrie w/ Jim Butcher Live Streamed'.

I just started Small Favor. I love this book, it basically has every important character in the series kicking butt, plus gruffs .
