Error: startup error
Having trouble with Calibre. When I try to run I get a box with the startup error message and then a drop down box with this.
Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\main.py", line 234, in initialize_db_stage2 File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\main.py", line 179, in start_gui File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\ui.py", line 140, in __init__ File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\ui.py", line 164, in load_store_plugins File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\ui.py", line 176, in init_istore File "site-packages\calibre\customize\__init__.py", line 671, in load_actual_plugin File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\store\stores\mobileread\mobi leread_plugin.py", line 28, in __init__ File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\store\__init__.py", line 60, in __init__ File "site-packages\calibre\utils\config.py", line 272, in __init__ File "site-packages\calibre\utils\config.py", line 284, in refresh File "site-packages\calibre\utils\lock.py", line 74, in read error: (23, 'ReadFile', 'Data error (cyclic redundancy check).') Calibre has worked before not sure if this is from a new update or what. I tried to use an older version but I still got the same error. |

Is this right?
Code:
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\store\stores\mobileread\mobi leread_plugin.py", line 28, in __init__ |

I'd be more concerned with
Code:
error: (23, 'ReadFile', 'Data error (cyclic redundancy check).') |

That error indicates that the ReadFile system call is failing, which is most likely a hardware error. Your disk is likely failing. Try running scandisk to check your drive for errors.

If I were you, I'd look into replacing that disk as soon as possible.
