The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie is the book everyone is raving about. I have not read it but I keep hearing so many good things about it.

She's an autobuy for me even though I haven't read her. (At least I don't think I hav...) Sometimes I just start collecting an author from reading all the positive things about their writing. She is one of them.

I'm reading it right now in paper. So far I'm not really into it, but I'll give it bit longer.

Oh, I'm not familiar with Spanish slang, I hope it doesn't ruin the book...

Wow, had no idea it was FF, nor comparable to 50Shades. I was just very curious about it...

I will try to remember to let you know. Most of the ones you mentioned will be pushed up my TBR pile. But, I've [obviously] bought quite a few 'first in series' from publishers, and would like to read them and buy the 2nd books, just in case something happens and the publishing-free-for-all stops, and I'd like to use the 50% off Kobo code as well.
I'm reading Divergent by Veronica Roth right now. Too many great books, too little time!
Oh good then I don't have to worry about you going into shock toward the ends. A friend of mine read it and cried her eyes out. She told me it traumatized her and so I return the book.

There is quite a bit of Spanish in Perfect Chemistry. I wish I had a Spanish dictionary to read with like I do now. I was looking up alot of words on my phone. I own the Audible and the book. As you know I have a thing for Spanish heroes.

Oh I am no hurry to know right away just if you read them and they are awesome post it here or if they were really bad post it here. Poughkeepsie is suppose to be really good even if it was a FF. I don't mind reading a FF but it makes it hard to picture the other characters. Christan Grey will always be Edward Cullen to me. *shakes head*

I can see why, but I just didn't connect with the characters the way it seemed I would in the first few chapters. I got to a point where it was like a train wreck, I cared just enough to skim through to see what happened.

Hmm, well I'm intrigued and concerned all at once, might have to start that one sooner than I thought just to see!

When I read FSOG, I had NO idea it was Twilight fanfic! I just read it to see what all the hoopla was about! When I found out, I just couldn't picture it, to me Christian Grey is Christian Grey, Edward Cullen is Edward Cullen, nothing similar to them at all in my eyesm and I enjoyed FSOG, and LOVED Twilight. Maybe that's why I enjoyed FSOG while some didn't?!

One of the word used alot is mamacita. I have read up on the different of use here in the US and other Spanish speaking countries. I think the author was trying use the term like we do Babe. Kristian Ashley uses Mamita instead for the word Babe in her Rock Chick book 7.

I read on Google that a guy calling a girl mamacita can get him slapped. it consider insult. It's sooo confusing!

Aww too. I knew 50 Shades was a twilight fan fic. I only read it to help people here save money. I have the original fanfic on my PC. I didn't like Twilight the book but love the movies she makes.

Gracias!

Blossom, well if it's just words like 'mamacita', I'll manage just fine! I know a very little bit I've culled from books, movies etc., so maybe I'll be ok! Is the book 'muy caliente'?

Well there is more than just that word. The guy is in a gang so there is some slang that I've never heard before.

Well, you're not going to listen it in Spain. It's mainly Mexican, and I think it's not exactly like babe. I think you don't call a girl you don't know "mamacita", only perhaps your girlfriend or your wife. You don't call that to a normal friend, I think.

It's a really good book as long as you don't mind YA protagonists. I didn't really notice an overabundance of Spanish, but then again, I speak a bit of it, so maybe that's why it didn't make any kind of impression on me. Anyway, whenever there are foreign terms in a book, I just treat them as "local color", and either get the meaning as best as I can from context, or ignore it and move on. I really should start trying to look those phrases up more.

I bought a Spanish-English Dictionary for my Paperwhite. It was a little over $6 and much needed but the Paperwhite does have the Translate feature if you are online. I read mine on the K4.
