				Kindle Paperwhite Trade-In $122

I just saw that you can get up to $122 for a "like new" Kindle Paperwhite without Special Offers when you trade it in through Amazon's website. However, you would only get up to $45 for a Paperwhite with Special Offers. Does that sound right? It sounds like they are willing to pay a lot for a Kindle Paperwhite withou Special Offers. Has anyone tried the trade-in program? I am considering it since it would pay for a PW2, but I am a little skeptical. https://www.amazon.com/gp/tradein/ca...007OZNZQ0&ece= |

Never tried it but if the difference is really that great, just pay Amazon the $20 to get rid of the special offers and then trade it in for the higher price.

I find it interesting that you can get more for the Wifi w/o SO ($122) than for the 3G+WiFi w/o SO ($115.50). Some crazy pricing. |

Hrmm... that's interesting. I think I will probably give it a shot and see how it goes. Thanks!

FYI- suspicious this may apply. From the Amazon Trade-In terms page... "We make every effort to ensure that the posted trade-in values (TIV) on our site are accurate, but occasionally a small number of items may display an incorrect TIV. If you trade in an item on which an incorrect TIV has been posted, we and the Merchant each reserve the right to accept or reject the item at our discretion. If your trade-in is rejected due to an incorrect TIV, we will send you an email notification and return the item to you at no additional cost. You will not receive any payment for the rejected items. I think their prices on the Touch are wonky too. I checked last night and they were offering more for a Touch with S/O than one without, both were WiFi only. So it sounds like they don't have correct pricing. |

Froggie 731, let us know how it goes. I also find it strange that they pay less for the 3G PW than the Wifi only version. And the "up to" bothers me a bit as well....

I will. I'm pretty skeptical, too. The "up to" is really just the condition. I chose the option for them to return it to me if they believe it is not in 'like new' condition. I guess we'll see!

$122 trade-in. That's 92 euro's; about the absolute maximum I could receive if if I sell my Paperwhite in the Netherlands, NOW, to someone who has not yet found out that the new Paperwhite is out.

The prices have changed now and you can only get $101.50 for a "like new" Kindle Paperwhite without special offers. Something's not right about this trade-in program. That's still about the same amount they give you for a Paperwhite 3G without special offers. Doesn't make sense at all.

See the Sony Vita with 3G... It should be sold for more, as it was only available in launch bundles. However, it is being sold at the same price as the Wifi only model, and they still can't sell through their initial stock. Nobody wants it. While a couple details are different, the Kindle 3G is similar. Not enough people buying the 3G used through this program to justify taking them in at as high a price.
