Need help with Kobo DRM
Hello everyone. I'm here because I heard Kobo DRM has been cracked. I have three books that they didn't give me the option to download with Adobe DRM and I would like to liberate those too. I'm not a pirate I just don't want to be tied down to a company this way. I was told I could get help at the Kobo board here.

Discussions on how to remove DRM aren't allowed on MobileRead, but you might find help on Apprentice Alf's blog. Haven't heard about Kobo DRM being broken, but if there's info Alf will probably have it.

Sorry we can't offer help with DRM removal here/ All that can be suggested is Google Apprentice Alf, and look at both the posts by Alf and the comments there and see what might be found.

Just curious about this bug fix listed in the latest Calibre version update:

Kobo driver: When a sideloaded kepub is added from a Kobo device to the calibre library, it is added as an epub, but the file copied is corrupt.

Closes tickets: 1221035

Is that saying/meaning that where a Kepub has been downloaded directly onto the Kobo ereader, and then in due course is transferred into Calibre, that the Kepub is converted into an Epub as part of the transfer process?

No, this is for sideloaded kepubs. When a sideloaded kepub is added to the library from the device, a conversion isn't done. The file is simply renamed to something that calibre handles fully. There are some other changes needed to add them as kepubs.

The driver blocks adding purchased kepubs to the calibre library. If the other changes that are needed for kepubs are made, then I will probably change this.
