I enjoy this series enough to buy it in print so my omnibus of First Shift should be arriving any day now.

I will consider doing that, too. I loved the last book just as much as the first two. Now reading the first Molly Fyde book.

PS I want another book or series set in the Wool universe. How about a silo 40 story? Or one of the others? Something after the events of Dust? Last edited by booklover6; 08-24-2013 at 10:02 AM. |

I read it in two days, and it only took that long because I just had to get some sleep! I think I will have to try Molly Fyde too. |

Well, he could change his mind. A spin off series or something.

And Molly Fyde is fantastic. I'm not done with it yet, but only because I am working. |

He has also opened up Wool to the Kindle Worlds system (or at least he isn't opposed to fan fiction in this world), so there will be some good (and some not so good) follow-ups by other authors. I know some of the previously published Wool "fan fiction" has been pretty good.

Love your stuff Mr. Howey. I've yet to read any of your non-silo related books, but they're all (I think) on my reader and I've no doubt they'll be up to the riveting standard set by Wool et al.

Sep 6, 2013 Maybe you've always had an idea for a book but were too daunted by the traditional gatekeepers of agents and publishers. Well now you can dust off the manuscript and get read to publish, because the growth of self-publishing services and social media makes it easier than ever to self-publish your book. But whether you self-publish or have a traditional book publisher, you'll need to do more marketing, more outreach, more organizing — more of everything! Authors are really becoming entrepreneurs, needing to understand the business of book publishing more than ever (even if they never thought they'd need to know this). This week's Mediatwits talks to successful self-published authors as part of our "Authors as Entrepreneurs" special, including self-published author, expert and MediaShift contributor Carla King and successful self-published authors Darcie Chan and Hugh Howey. MediaShift's Mark Glaser hosts, along with Mónica Guzmán from the Seattle Times and GeekWire and Andrew Lih from American University.

Published on Feb 20, 2014 We're back!!! Welcome back to the space castle, everybody! HUGE thanks to our Kickstarter supporters for making this possible. In our first episode of Season 2, we talk to Wool Omnibus author Hugh Howey. Find out how not to get shoved outside, how George R. R. Martin motivated Hugh's career, and his number one editing tip.
