The feature is great, if you have more than one dictionary. I'm using only the default English, as my mother language is Arabic. Is there any way to get Arabic dictionary on PW?

I would still want Amazon to say 'go ahead and use soft hyphens, we are not going to break that if we add auto hyphenation' but nice to know of this option. Does it work with all of the reading apps that support KF8? Does text search ignore the soft hyphens and find the text?

As for epub reading systems, I believe things are still sort of hit and miss. At least older ADE and RMSDK would break words but not add hyphen glyph. So I doubt too many publishers are submitting files with soft hyphens in them.

Updated my PW, jailbreak survived, reinstalled dev certs and kindlet jailbreak from https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...67&postcount=2

Collection Manager refuses to work. Nothing else tested for now.

That's a bug - and sometimes the light doesn't turn on when it should. Sometimes, changing the brightness setting fixes it. So far, a reboot always does. Fortunately, it only happens once every few weeks.

The problem is forgetting to check and then wondering why your battery is near dead.

Think I'll stick to 5.3.5

Shout out to the devs of the Jailbreak and other useful patches - awesome work, just awesome. Now I can use Collections like they're meant to be used.

Tried it with Kindle Previewer and it works well.
I've a memory in a corner of my brain of Kindle Reader for PC reading it well, but i'm not sure.

There's a discussion about this on the plugin thread. However the plugin allows to add and remove soft hypens, and to select the format to hyphen-ize. I do that only for AZW3 (much better reading experience, IMHO) leaving ePubs untouched.

I've upgraded to 5.3.8 on my first-gen PW.
Jailbreak survived.
But I had to install again Kindlet Jailbreak and developers keystores.
Also my custom regional (Russian) keyboard disappeared too.
Also disappeared my picture, that was installed instead of Amazon Special offers in the bottom on home screen.
But everything last is well.
May be I am paranoid, but i am feeling that my Kindle has became a little bit slower.

If there are bug fixes in the firmware update, does Amazon list them somewhere? Or just the new features? I am curious about this too.

I am also having a problem where after a few weeks of reading, my last page is not preserved when I go back to the home screen. I can't tell yet if this is due to having library books (possibly... ahem... overdue library books) on the Kindle.

My Kindle survive the upgrade and I love the new dictionary feature. I'm off to buy some dictionaries! (With hubby's money of course)

I really want a Dutch dictionary as good as the English one.

I mean, one that can find "Huis" if you look up "Huizen" (Houses / House), just like the English one can. I have a Dutch one, but it can't do that. If you look up "Huizen", it says that there is no such word

While I don't often need a dictionary in Dutch (and I don't read much Dutch novels), but sometimes it'd be handy to have.

I bought the Merriam Webster's Spanish to English and their French to English dictionaries. I want one for Italian to English but none to be found. The Translate feature works sometimes but it's a hassle to turn on WiFi for one word lookup then have to turn it off again.
